Never4gA 0.1.0
The first public release of Never4gA: the right context for every AI session, assembled from your Markdown notes without spending a token.
uv tool install never4gaPython 3.14 or later. uv installs it for you if you don't have it.
What's in it
- A Markdown vault is the source of truth. Notes are plain Markdown in a normal Obsidian vault, and every index is derived from them and can be rebuilt.
- Start from the notes you have.
never4ga initover an existing folder leaves every file where it is. Its notes are searchable on the first run, whether they sit in subfolders or at the top level. - Context packs, built mechanically. For the repository you're working in, a pack is assembled from scope, metadata, document structure, full-text search, links, and Git and tracker state, with no model call. It stays within its budget and says why each item is there.
- Four ways in, one codebase: the
never4gaCLI, an MCP server (never4ga-mcp), a local HTTP API that listens only on localhost, and the Obsidian companion, which isn't published yet. - Session memory.
checkpointandwraprecord what a session did, so the next one starts where it left off. - Agent skills, deployed for you.
never4ga adapters synckeeps the skills current across the coding agents installed on your machine. - Tracker integration. It reads and writes work items in OpenProject, through a provider port other trackers can implement.
What it won't do
It never calls a model for you, never needs an API key, and never sends your notes anywhere.
Built and tested on Linux, where the background service runs under systemd. On macOS and Windows, run never4ga serve in a terminal.
