v2.6.0 — NTO Registry
This release closes a credit gap on Supervised Student Project Output, one
of only three artefact types in the catalogue that still had no live
credit-capture pathway recorded against it. ORCID's Teaching and Supervision
work-type group — Supervised student publication and Other teaching or supervision output — lets a supervisor claim a student-authored thesis or
paper as a discretely identified work on their own ORCID record, which is
exactly the credit direction this artefact describes: the supervisor's
mentorship contribution, not the student's authorship. The mapping is now
recorded as active. Two artefact types remain with an empty
supporting-infrastructure list.

Changes in v2.6.0
Added
- ORCID is now active supporting infrastructure for Supervised Student
Project Output indata/nto_catalogue.yml, closing one of the catalogue's
three remaining emptysupporting-infrastructurelists. ORCID's Teaching
and Supervision work-type group containsSupervised student publication
("articles on research findings published jointly with or supervised by the
thesis adviser") andOther teaching or supervision output, which together
let a supervisor claim a student-authored output as a discretely-identified
work on their own record — the exact bar 1.2.2 set for keeping an ORCID
mapping, and the credit direction this artefact is about (the supervisor's
contribution, not the student's authorship). This artefact carried an ORCID
mapping atstatus: planneduntil 2.0.0 removed theplannedvalue
wholesale; it returns asactivenow that the live pathway is confirmed
rather than aspirational. Resolves #3, reported by @EvaAlloza.

v2.5.0 — NTO Registry
The first archived release of the NTO Registry. This version adds the ELIXIR
Research Software Ecosystem (RSEc) to the infrastructure catalogue, rewrites
the Ontologies & Controlled Vocabularies blurb to state the actual
output-centric gap, and removes a hardcoded platform count that had already
gone stale once.
It is also the point from which the registry becomes citable: every release
from here on is deposited in Zenodo with a permanent DOI, so the catalogue can
be referenced at an exact version and reused from a snapshot that will not
change underneath you.
What's in this release
The registry's primary assets are three curated YAML data files. They are the
catalogue itself — designed for direct reuse, adaptation to other research
domains, and machine consumption — not a by-product of the website.

All three are attached to this release for direct download, and carry
added-in-version / last-modified-version provenance on every entry.
Archived in the same snapshot as supporting software — alongside the data, not
in place of it: site/, the Astro and React application published at
https://nto-registry.org, and scripts/validate_yaml.py, the schema and
reference-integrity validator run against every change.

Added
- ELIXIR Research Software Ecosystem (RSEc) added to
data/infrastructure_catalogue.ymlunder Metadata enrichment — a metadata
commons that unifies tool identifiers across eight software registries
(bio.tools, Bioconda, Bioconductor, BioContainers, Debian Med, Galaxy
Codex, OpenEBench, WorkflowHub) and cross-checks their records against each
other. Three of those sources are already in this catalogue, so RSEc sits
directly on infrastructure the registry already tracks. Mapped to CoARA
OI4RRA Tier 2 (Scholarly Metadata Aggregators), which makes our Metadata
Enrichment heading span CoARA Tiers 2 and 3 — a second concrete example of
the two models cutting across each other.
Fixed
- The CoARA view's intro hardcoded "the same 17 platforms", which went stale
the moment a platform was added. It now reads the count from the catalogue.
Changed
- Rewrote the Ontologies & Controlled Vocabularies section blurb. It now
states what the vocabularies in production actually describe — CRediT is
activity-centric, standardising the contributor roles behind an output
rather than the output itself — and identifies the gap as output-centric:
no widely adopted or established ontology for non-traditional outputs
currently exists. Replaces the previous informal "dedicated NTO ontologies
barely exist yet".

A note on earlier versions
Versions 1.0.0 through 2.4.2 predate this archiving setup and exist in
CHANGELOG.md only — they were never tagged, so they have no
DOI and cannot be retrospectively archived. v2.5.0 is release #1.
