Precompiled binary

Precompiled binaries of Niv can be found and dowloaded here. Once downloaded, you're good to continue on to the next tutorials.

Building Niv from source

Before starting: Niv requires sfml-rs to be installed in order to get compiled succesfuly, so please make sure you follow the sfml-rs installation guide for your OS before building and running Niv.

Retrieve a copy of the git repo by dowloading an archive .zip file and extracting it or by running the following line in the terminal:

git clone https://github.com/BlidDev/Niv

...cd into the folder:

cd Niv

...and simply run

cargo build --release

The Niv executable file will be located in target/release/YOUR_TARGET/niv(.exe)

Alternatively, you can just build and run it directly with:

cargo run -- -f path/to/script.niv
