Security — vulnerable axios 0.27.2 was being bundled into every install

  • @polymarket/builder-relayer-client@0.0.10 pins axios@^0.27.2 (2022-era, 20+ open advisories including high-severity SSRF/CSRF classes). Because tsup bundles all dependencies (noExternal), that copy shipped inside dist/ to every user — npm overrides in a consumer's project can't reach it. Added a root axios: "$axios" override so the whole tree dedupes to the current 1.x line; the relayer client's axios usage (create/request/isAxiosError) is 1.x-compatible, and the newer Polymarket SDKs in the same tree were already on 1.x. Verified the 0.27.2 code is gone from the built bundle.
  • Gotcha for next time: package.json already had an overrides block further down (basic-ftp/ws/postcss/esbuild). Adding a second overrides key parses as valid JSON but npm silently uses only the last one — merge into the existing block.
  • Remaining known-unfixable transitive: bigint-buffer (buffer overflow in toBigIntLE(), no patched release exists) via @blockrun/llm → @solana/spl-token. It processes our own wallet-balance buffers, not attacker-controlled input; tracked until the Solana ecosystem moves off it.
