clawrouter update — one command updates both copies
ClawRouter lives in two places for most OpenClaw users: the plugin OpenClaw
loads (~/.openclaw/extensions/blockrun-clawrouter) and the global npm
install that provides the clawrouter binary. npm install -g refreshed only
the binary, so the plugin OpenClaw actually runs stayed on the old release
until the user found the separate curl … | bash updater.
clawrouter update runs the bundled rollback-safe updater (update.sh, or
update.ps1 on Windows) to back up wallet/config state and reinstall the
plugin, then — when the CLI is the global install — runs npm install -g so
the binary lands on the same release. A failed global refresh (usually
EACCES on a root-owned prefix) only warns with the manual command, since the
plugin is already current. update is matched only as the first argument, so
clawrouter doctor how do I update stays a doctor question. The updater runs
from a temp copy so a plugin reinstall can't rewrite the script mid-run.
- Thanks to @0xCheetah1 for the command (#495).
Surf integration removed
BlockRun retired the Surf data API on 2026-09-06 (/api/v1/surf/* answers
410). The surf skill, the proxy whitelist entry and the README/skill/plugin
references are gone. In wallet mode /v1/surf/* is now refused locally with
unsupported_endpoint — nothing signed, nothing sent; API-key mode relays the
gateway's 410 (#502).
Prices point at the live rate card
The README model tables and the clawrouter/imagegen skills no longer carry
hand-copied per-model prices, which had already drifted from what the gateway
bills. They point at https://blockrun.ai/pricing and GET /api/v1/models
instead (#498, #499). Skill frontmatter and package description now say 90
models, matching the live catalog (#501).
Publishing via npm Trusted Publishing
publish.yml installs npm >= 11.5.1 so the release job can publish through
OIDC Trusted Publishing instead of a long-lived token; NPM_TOKEN stays as
the fallback (#500).
