GPU Selector
GPU Selector v1.3.0 is a multi-GPU game launcher for Windows and Linux/Wine that also installs and manages ReShade, Depth3D, and the Depth3D add-ons for you. If you would rather not run the ReShade setup wizard by hand for every game - or if the wizard does not work for your game at all - this is the path to take.

Documentation: https://blueskydefender.github.io/GPUSelector/
Also written up at ReadShade.
Requirements: Windows 10 or later (x64), plus the WebView2 runtime - already present on most Windows 10/11 systems. Linux users run it under Wine. Author: Jose Negrete (BlueSkyDefender). License: Personal Non-Commercial (NC-ND-NR).
To be precise: GPU Selector does not replace ReShade. It deploys ReShade for you, picks the build, drops in Depth3D and the add-ons, and wires up the settings that Depth3D needs. Where it is a genuine alternative is Inject Mode - for games that block a normal ReShade install outright.
- Install GPU Selector and open the Mods tab (press
5). - On the ReShade card, pick a Version and set Build Type to Full Add-on Support.
- Click Download ReShade, then Launch and point the wizard at your game.
- On the Depth3D card, deploy Depth3D - this also gives you the Enhanced Generic Depth (GDM) add-on.
- Launch the game and press Home.
That is it. Overwatch.fxh comes with Depth3D, so if your game has a profile it is already configured.
The Mods tab (Tab 5) has three views. Everything below is in Modding Utilities, which holds the built-in cards: ReShade, Depth3D, CShade, DXVK, VKD3D-Proton, dgVoodoo2, WineD3D and Zink.
On the ReShade card you pick a Version (4.x through 6.x) and a Build Type:
Standard EAC / anti-cheat safe. Use this for online and multiplayer games.
No add-on API - so no GDM, no ShaderToggler, no REST.
Full Add-on Support Enables the add-on API. Singleplayer only; may trigger anti-cheat
in multiplayer. This is what Depth3D's add-ons need.
4.9.1 Legacy The last version before the 5.0 add-on API split. For maximum
compatibility with very old shader packs.
For Depth3D you almost always want Full Add-on Support, since that is what unlocks the Enhanced Generic Depth add-on. Use Standard only if you are playing online and the game's policy allows ReShade at all.
Using ReShade - especially by injection - in competitive multiplayer may violate the game's terms of service. Check the game's policy first.
Then Download ReShade (the installer downloads while reshade.me loads in the background, so crosire gets the AdSense revenue) and Launch to run the setup wizard against your game.
The Depth3D card deploys SuperDepth3D along with Overwatch.fxh, so per-game depth configuration is already handled for the ~980 titles Overwatch knows about.
With a Full Add-on build, these add-ons are available through Manage Add-ons:
Enhanced Generic Depth (GDM) A superior replacement for ReShade's built-in Generic Depth.
Installed via the Depth3D card. See the Generic Depth Mod page.
ShaderToggler Toggle individual shader effects on/off with hotkeys in game.
REST API Exposes a REST API so external tools can drive ReShade.
GameBridge (3DGameBridge) Talks to external 3D display software.
Xinp Input handling. This is what the shader's "UI Read Controller"
option needs to read your controller's right trigger.
Custom Add-ons Your own add-on DLLs. These support an optional
"Deploy only with Depth3D" condition, so an add-on can be set
to deploy only where Depth3D is actually installed.
Each add-on has an Uninstall button. Manage Add-on Games lets you decide which add-ons are active per game rather than globally.
When GDM is deployed to a game, GPU Selector automatically disables the built-in Generic Depth in ReShade.ini.
This is the step people get wrong doing it by hand. Two depth-detection add-ons fighting over the same buffer is the usual cause of "I installed GDM and nothing changed." GPU Selector removes that failure mode entirely - which is the main reason to deploy Depth3D this way rather than manually.
Some games block standard DLL loading. Inject Mode injects ReShade into the running process instead of placing DLLs in the game folder.
Toggle it with the syringe icon on the ReShade card. The ReShade logo turns purple (fuchsia on Wine/Linux) while it is active. Behind the scenes it uses inject64.exe or inject32.exe.
Use it for:
- UWP and Microsoft Store games, which do not allow DLL placement
- Games with file integrity checks that reject a modified DLL
- EAC-protected games - the bypass forces a direct launch instead of the Steam URL, skipping the EAC launcher chain
- Anything where a standard ReShade install just refuses to load
Extra buttons appear on the ReShade card in Inject Mode:
Refresh Shader Folders Re-extracts the ReShade DLLs and refreshes shader folder paths. Manage Add-ons Install or remove add-ons. Needs the Full Add-on build. Manage Add-on Games Choose which add-ons are enabled per game.
Launcher Injection Mode is an alternative method by tjandra (Stereo-3D/cmd_inject) that generates a launcher.bat to run the injector alongside the game. It is the default on Wine/Linux and opt-in on Windows via the Settings card, and it supports protocol-based launches (Steam, Epic, and so on).
-
Custom Overlay Key - the ReShade menu defaults to
Home, but you can bind any key with optional Ctrl/Shift/Alt. Genuinely useful on a 60% keyboard, or when you are sitting back from a 3D TV with only a controller. -
Gamepad navigation - automatically enabled in Inject Mode. Xbox controllers (and PS4/Switch pads via Steam Input or DS4Windows) can drive the ReShade overlay. LB + RB + Start opens and closes it. There is a
[?]button with the full mapping. - Tutorial skip - ReShade's first-launch tutorial popup is skipped automatically in Inject Mode.
All of these persist between restarts and are compatible with the GDM add-on.
GPU Selector adapts the install automatically under Wine:
Default Launcher Injection Mode generates a launcher.bat to run alongside the game.
A proxy DLL toggle is also available.
DX9-12 & OpenGL d3dcompiler_47=native is set in the Wine registry automatically.
A download and install button is in the Settings card.
Vulkan Uses the Vulkan implicit layer system with WINEDLLOVERRIDES=vulkan-1=n to
load the native vulkan-1.dll. Needs VulkanRT 1.4.335+ and the native
vulkan-1.dll override.
Depth3D is only one card in the Mods tab. The rest of the tool matters to 3D users more than it first looks:
Multi-GPU forcing Force a game onto a specific GPU - Windows GPU Preference, Vulkan
Config, or Monitor Switching. On a laptop or a dual-GPU desktop this
is often the difference between the depth buffer working and not,
and it is why the Depth3D docs warn about hybrid systems.
Game library Scans Steam, Epic, GOG, EA App, Ubisoft Connect, Xbox, Battle.net,
Amazon Games, itch.io and Nexon Launcher. Custom games can be added.
Emulators ROM folder scanning, per-emulator config and launch arguments.
Overwatch ships emulator profiles for PCSX2, CEMU, Yuzu, Ryujinx,
Project64, Xenia and N64 Recompiled, so these pair up directly.
Translation layers DXVK and VKD3D-Proton (DX9-12 to Vulkan), dgVoodoo2 (legacy DirectX 1-8
and 3dfx Glide), WineD3D and Zink. When a game profile's banner says
"Needs DXVK" or "Needs DGVOODOO2", this is where you get it.
Modding Codex A curated database of community projects - decomps, ports, remakes,
fixes and VR mods.
Accessibility An OpenDyslexic font mode and high-DPI scaling support.
Right-click a game card in the Games tab and choose Uninstall ReShade. The same right-click menu has Game Info, Launch Options, Open Game Folder, Copy Path and the Multi-Launch toggle.
Two ReShade bugs are fixed in this release:
- The Version dropdown no longer jumps back to "Nightly Build" after downloading a version - which previously blanked the Build dropdown as a side effect, and was an easy way to end up on a Standard build when you meant to be on Full Add-on Support.
- The Build Type selection is no longer cleared when a restored value does not exist in the current dropdown.
The rest of v1.3.0 is a game-artwork overhaul (store-native sources instead of web guessing, per-game Set Custom Artwork), a rewritten Steam appinfo.vdf parser - which had stopped working entirely on current Steam clients - better launch-executable selection, and icon fixes for EasyAntiCheat titles like Elden Ring.
