Changes

• Effort follows /effort. A level you change during a session is read from Claude Code's conversation, so the strip no longer shows the effortLevel from ~/.claude/settings.json (for example xhigh) while you work at medium. The statusLine value still wins when it is newer
• Update notices. Hachibu checks GitHub for a new version once a day. When it finds one, it sends one notification and shows the new version at the top of the menu. Updates in the menu shows the version you are running, turns the check off, and has Check Now. The check sends only the app's name and version
• Builds with Swift 6.1 as well as newer toolchains

How to update

Download Hachibu-macos.zip, quit Hachibu, and replace Hachibu.app in your Applications folder. Settings stay. The app is not notarized yet, so allow the first launch again in System Settings > Privacy & Security. The first time Hachibu finds a newer version, macOS asks whether to allow its notifications.

更新のしかた

Hachibu 0.3.2

Changes

• New menu bar style, Weekly gauge: the icon's slanted cut moves with the weekly usage, the used side turns yellow and red, and the percentage sits next to it. It takes about as much room as the battery indicator
• The menu bar item with text is drawn as one group with a larger icon, so it no longer looks like several apps side by side
• A second shortcut steps through Standard, Usage only, and Tucked. Set it from Shortcut for Switching Display in the menu. It is off until you set it
• The 1M context dot is orange, and it is now detected from the context window size that Claude Code passes to the statusLine. This needs the statusLine setup described in the README. A 1M setting for another model family is no longer applied
• Usage lines and How to Read the Strip are drawn at full contrast instead of looking disabled

• メニューバーに「週枠のメーター」の表示を足しました。アイコンの斜めの切れ目が週枠の使用率に合わせて動き、使った側に黄や赤の色が付き、横に使用率の数字が出ます。バッテリーの表示と同じくらいの幅です
• 文字を出すメニューバーの項目は、大きくした絵と文字をひとまとまりに描きます。複数のアプリが並んでいるようには見えなくなりました
• 2つ目のショートカットで、標準、使用率だけ、端に収納を順に切り替えられます。メニューの「表示切り替えのショートカット…」で設定します。設定するまでは無効です
• 1Mコンテキストの点を橙にしました。Claude CodeがstatusLineに渡すコンテキスト幅から判定します。READMEにあるstatusLineの設定が必要です。別の系統のモデル向けの1Mの指定は付けなくなりました
• 使用率の行と「表示の読み方」を、通常の濃さで描くようにしました
• 日本語の文言の「帯」を「バー」に変えました

Changes

• The strip is more compact (28pt high instead of 36pt), and the strip, the menu bar item, and the windows now share the same corner radii and glass surface
• A 1M context is shown as a small dot after the model name instead of the text "1M". The menu spells it out in its first line, and a new How to Read the Strip submenu explains every mark and color
• New menu bar icon that matches the app icon. Usage numbers in the menu bar get the same rounded yellow and red tags as the strip
• The shortcut window has a Save button: press the new combination, press it once more to confirm that it arrives, then click Save
• If macOS hides the menu bar item, the strip's right-click menu shows a shortcut to System Settings > Menu Bar
• The bundle identifier changed to io.github.boxpistols.hachibu. Settings from 0.3.0 are not carried over, and Launch at Login needs to be turned on again. To remove the old settings: defaults delete dev.local.hachibu

Slashstrip is now Hachibu. It shows Claude Code's model, effort, and usage limits in a small strip that stays on top of your Mac's screen.

Changes

• Renamed to Hachibu. If you installed Slashstrip, turn off its Launch at Login, quit it, and move it to the Trash. Settings are not carried over
• Runs on Intel Macs as well as Apple Silicon (macOS 14 or later)
• A Language menu (English or Japanese). The action log is written in the chosen language
• Everything is reachable from the strip's right-click menu, even when the menu bar item is hidden
• Opening a second copy shows the strip of the one already running instead of starting another
• The consent for the optional usage API now quotes the Claude Code terms that restrict third-party use of its login

• 名前をHachibuに変えました。Slashstripを入れていた場合は、「ログイン時に起動」を無効にしてから終了し、ゴミ箱に入れてください。設定は引き継がれません
• Apple Siliconに加えて、IntelのMacでも動きます（macOS 14以降）
• 言語メニュー（英語か日本語）を足しました。操作ログも選んだ言語で書きます
• メニューバーの項目が隠れていても、帯の右クリックメニューからすべて操作できます
• 別のコピーを開いたときは、動いている方の帯を出し、重ねて起動しません
• 任意の使用率APIの同意画面に、Claude Codeのログイン情報の第三者による利用を制限する規約の文面を載せました

Slashstrip 0.2.0

Slashstrip shows Claude Code's model, effort, and usage limits in a small strip that stays on top of your Mac's screen. It works on its own; no other tools are needed.

What's in this version

• One strip: model, effort, 5-hour (S), weekly (W), and per-model weekly (F) usage, with yellow and red at thresholds you choose
• Usage comes from Claude Code's statusLine, or, if you turn it on, from Anthropic's usage endpoint every 5 minutes. The app explains what that uses and its risks before you decide
• Four display modes, right-click menu with live preview, usage in the menu bar, a shortcut you record and confirm, and Launch at Login
• The command buttons and other parts that relied on the author's BetterTouchTool scripts are removed
• A new app icon

この版の内容

Slashstrip 0.1.0 (early build)

Early build of Slashstrip, a floating strip for Macs without a Touch Bar that shows Claude Code's model, effort, and usage limits, and puts slash commands one click away.

Works out of the box: the strip and its five display modes, the right-click menu with live preview, color thresholds for usage, usage in the menu bar, a keyboard shortcut you record yourself, and Launch at Login. Model, effort, and 5-hour and weekly usage appear after you call statusline.sh from your Claude Code statusLine.

Command buttons, answer buttons, and the session list currently need the author's hooks bridge scripts, which are not published yet. Building that into the app is tracked in #1.

Install

1. Download Slashstrip-macos.zip, unzip it, and move Slashstrip.app to your Applications folder
2. The app is not signed with a Developer ID or notarized yet (#3), so macOS blocks the first launch. Try to open it once and close the warning, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Security, click Open next to the message about Slashstrip, click Open Anyway, and enter your password. Step-by-step instructions, a Terminal alternative, and how to check the download first are in the README: https://github.com/BoxPistols/slashstrip#install
3. Save statusline.sh, make it executable, and set it as your statusLine command as shown in the README

Touch Barを搭載していないMacで、Claude Codeのモデル、effort、使用率を画面上の細い帯に出し、スラッシュコマンドをワンクリックで送れるようにするアプリの早期版です。
