Vidaro 0.1.2

Important

The Vidaro repository moved to github.com/BrandSilva/Vidaro. Vidaro 0.1.0 and 0.1.1 cannot see updates published from the new address, so install this version manually once from the file below. From 0.1.2 on, updates keep working even if the address changes again.

Improved

• Update checks use the permanent repository ID, so they survive account renames
• Links to the repository and releases point to the new address

Fixed

• A download interrupted by a momentary "HTTP 403" from the site (common with YouTube time ranges) is retried once automatically, and if it still fails the message says what happened instead of "Processing the downloaded file failed"
• Other HTTP errors reported by FFmpeg while downloading are now shown as connection problems with a clear retry hint

Improved

• Calmer design: primary buttons and switches now use a solid color with clearer contrast, and disabled buttons are plainly grey
• Updates for an "all users" installation go straight to the administrator prompt, without asking again where Vidaro is installed
• The window icon is set explicitly, so the taskbar icon stays sharp on scaled displays

Fixed

• Vidaro could appear as "Electron" (name and icon) in the Start menu and on the taskbar on a PC that had run a development build. Development and test builds now use their own Windows identity and never touch the installed app's entry
• "Keep working in the background" always hides the window, even if the notification area icon cannot be created

Updating

If you have Vidaro 0.1.0, click the Update button at the top of the window, then Install and restart. Your settings, presets and queue are kept.

The first version of Vidaro: download video and audio from links, and convert any media file into one that plays everywhere.

New

Downloader

• Paste a link from YouTube or hundreds of other sites and see the title, channel, duration and thumbnail before downloading
• Type the file name yourself or pick a template (Title, Channel - Title, Date - Title, Title [id], or your own)
• Video + audio, video only or audio only (MP3, M4A, Opus, WAV, FLAC), any quality up to 4K
• Compatible mode (on by default) that prefers H.264 + AAC in MP4, so files play in FlowAir, on TVs and in editors
• Playlists and channels with checkboxes, ranges and numbered file names
• Subtitles, embedded thumbnail, metadata and chapters, SponsorBlock, time ranges, speed limit, cookies and proxy
