T3 Code Fold Preview 0.1.3 — Live Codex Voice
Pre-releaseLive, two-way Codex voice for T3 Code Fold web, desktop, and native mobile clients, including clients connected to a remote host such as beta1.
- Start voice from an existing Codex thread, mute your microphone, or end the call.
- The selected host owns the Codex session and login. Authenticated signaling uses its existing connection; microphone and response audio use direct client-to-OpenAI WebRTC.
- T3 enables Codex's experimental realtime feature for managed sessions. Requires a signed-in Codex CLI 0.145.0 or newer with realtime access.
- Android includes native WebRTC and requires installing the new APK. Existing OTA-only clients cannot gain this native capability.
Install
Install the APK on an arm64 Android device or the desktop installer for your platform. Upgrade the host too: download t3-code-fold-0.1.3-preview.1.tgz and install it with npm install -g ./t3-code-fold-0.1.3-preview.1.tgz using Node.js 24. The package supplies the t3 command and bundled web client. Stop the old host process before restarting the upgraded host against your existing T3 home; this release does not restart your live host automatically.
Pair the Fold client with the host, open an existing Codex thread, and choose Talk to Codex. Send the thread's first message before starting voice. For web access from another device, serve the Fold web client over HTTPS (including on a tailnet); remote HTTP pages cannot access browser microphones. The upstream hosted web app does not contain this feature.
Beta limits and validation
Keep the mobile app open in the thread. Backgrounding it, leaving the thread, or losing the connection ends voice. Screen-locked/background calls are not included. Mac desktop and iOS source are included for local builds; Mac artifacts are not published here.
208 focused tests passed, along with scoped server, shared runtime, web, mobile, and desktop typechecks. Native Android, Linux desktop, and Windows x64 installer builds passed. Real authenticated Codex WebRTC negotiation, synthesized speech input, non-silent response audio, and stop were verified through T3's actual server runtime on Beta1. The standalone host package was installed into an isolated directory, started successfully, and served the bundled web client with HTTP 200. Physical microphone/speaker/Bluetooth behavior and integrated browser/emulator UI checks have not yet been verified.
The Windows x64 installer is attached. Its native build completed successfully. SHA256SUMS covers the installers and host package.
Based on upstream PR pingdotgg#8324, extended for this fork with native mobile support and shared lifecycle management. Built with GPT-6 in the Codex harness.
