Eeronaut 1.0.1

@Bretteroo Bretteroo released this 10 Oct 05:00

Fixes and small improvements since 1.0.0.

  • After Update now, the button reads "Updating…" until the firmware install finishes, and the update notice goes away on its own when it's done. Before, the button went back to "Update now", dimmed and with no explanation, and the notice stayed until you reloaded the page.
  • Small colored text (device states on the dashboard, band tags and channel changes on the airtime page, warnings and error messages) is now easy to read in Harbor, Liquid Glass and Sailing. Some of it was too faint, the amber especially.
  • Going back to Clients shows the list straight away instead of a loading placeholder.
  • Opening Settings no longer tries to withdraw expired admin invites. eero refused those requests every time, and each one made the other pages reload their data.
  • Updated dependencies, including FastAPI, uvicorn, cryptography and Vite, and the Docker image now builds the interface with Node 26.

For theme authors

The theme engine is now 1.1. It adds five tokens for status and chart colors used as text: --color-ok-ink, --color-warn-ink, --color-bad-ink, --series-1-ink and --series-2-ink. A theme that doesn't set them looks the same as before, and themes built for 1.0 still load. See THEMES.md.

Upgrade

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

The image is ghcr.io/bretteroo/eeronaut:1.0.1 (also tagged 1.0 and latest).

Eeronaut 1.0.0

@Bretteroo Bretteroo released this 07 Oct 04:47

The first release of Eeronaut, a locally-hosted web dashboard for managing Eero mesh networks.

Nearly everything in Eero's mobile apps is here, in a browser, plus a few things the apps don't do:

  • A topology map showing which devices are connected to which eeros
  • Radio channel and airtime graphs
  • Warnings before any change that restarts your network
  • Speed tests measured against the speed you pay for
  • More DNS providers, and built-in dynamic DNS (DuckDNS, Dynu, dynv6, FreeDNS, No-IP)
  • Easier IPv4 and IPv6 port forwarding
  • Hides eero Plus features if you don't subscribe
  • Five themes (Eerish, Sailing, Liquid Glass, Harbor, Winksys), and a theme engine for making your own
  • 20 languages

Install

With Docker, on x64 or arm64 (Raspberry Pi works fine). Download docker-compose.yml, set the data folder in it, then:

docker compose up -d

and open http://localhost:3340. The image is ghcr.io/bretteroo/eeronaut:1.0.0 (also tagged 1.0 and latest).

To install without Docker, see the README.

Before you start

Eeronaut needs a native Eero account. If you sign in to the Eero app with Amazon, invite yourself as an admin first (Settings > User Permissions > + > Invite admin) and sign in to Eeronaut with that email address or phone number.

Like Eero's own apps, Eeronaut makes its changes through the eero cloud. It is not affiliated with eero LLC or Amazon.com, Inc.
