BrushLLM Image Studio v0.0.6
A local-first desktop image toolbox — 15 local tools + 7 AI tools. Local tools run 100% on your machine; AI tools use your own API key. Free and private.
Changes
- Command palette upgrade — search now understands English names and aliases (convert, ColorReplace, mosaic, settings…) in any UI language, with camelCase tokenization; zero results show suggested tools instead of a dead end; a clear (×) button sits next to esc; the list order matches the home grid
- Contrast fixes — the free-tool label (5.47:1), card chevrons (5.36:1) and disabled buttons now meet accessibility thresholds in light mode
- Clearer format chips — unselected chips are flat text, the selected format is the only pill, so the single-select state is obvious; WebP reads as WebP; picking an output format hints that quality control unlocks
- Dark mode card edges — tool cards and panels get a visible hairline border in dark mode instead of merging into the background
- Canvas-tool empty states — the drop zone fills the workspace height (~480px) before an image is loaded, so pages no longer show a stub above dead space

Changes
- Real WebP compression — WebP output is now lossy via libwebp with the quality slider applied: typical photos land around 5% of the original at q75 (previously a lossless re-pack that could end up larger than the input)
- Preview matches the output — the Compress preview now goes through the same never-grow fallback as the actual write, so the size it shows is the size you get
- All formats back in Compress — the same-format fallback guarantees no output grows its own kind, so the picker no longer needs to hide formats
- Home page cleanup — removed the stale version label from the footer

Changes
- Compress never grows a file — re-encoding now preserves the source color type (RGB input is no longer padded with an alpha channel, which made outputs larger than the originals), TIFF is deflate-compressed, and a same-format output falls back to the original bytes when re-encoding cannot beat them
- Compress offers only shrinkable formats — SVG / TIFF / BMP / ICO left the Compress picker (they are inherently larger); they remain available in Convert Format
- Clearer update-check errors — the GitHub API rate limit is now distinguished from a private-repository hint
