BrushLLM Player v0.0.8

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Oct 19:54

An open-source cross-platform media player built on mpv — plays virtually every format, streams from WebDAV / SMB / FTP / Emby / Jellyfin, and ships a 9-language UI.

What's new in 0.0.8

  • Polished playback-end state — when a video finishes, the screen settles on a clean black start view instead of freezing on the last frame
  • Interface refinements — clearer disabled buttons, visible selection marks on the subtitle color swatches, one selection style across every tab, unified popover backgrounds, and a redesigned dark About window
  • Drag-and-drop hint on the start screen — the feature was always there, now it says so
  • README in 9 languages — every translation lives in its own file under docs/

An open-source cross-platform media player built on mpv — plays virtually every format, streams from WebDAV / SMB / FTP / Emby / Jellyfin, and ships a 9-language UI.

What's new in 0.0.7

  • Refreshed interface — one consistent design language across the whole app: a single lemon accent for selections and actions, hover and disabled states on every toolbar button, unified empty and error states, and text contrast raised to accessibility standards
  • Localization fixes — sidebar tabs and the server form now adapt to longer translations (German, Portuguese) instead of truncating
  • About window — a native About dialog on both macOS and Windows with version, credits and project links

BrushLLM Player v0.0.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 00:38

An open-source cross-platform media player built on mpv — plays virtually every format, streams from WebDAV / SMB / FTP / Emby / Jellyfin, and ships a 9-language UI.

What's new in 0.0.6

A full external audit of v0.0.5 found 20 confirmed issues (data safety, credentials, playback correctness); this release fixes all of them and adds a 78-test regression suite that now runs in CI.

  • Credential safety — passwords and access tokens no longer persist in plaintext history/bookmarks: server entries store a logical identity, sensitive URLs go to the Keychain, and logs are redacted
  • Share safety — SMB mount cleanup can never recursively delete share contents; mounts are verified by exact identity before any cleanup
  • WebDAV — redirects resolve right before playback (the playlist is preserved), directory parsing handles absolute paths, and modified-date sorting now actually requests dates from servers
  • Sorting — comparators are stable and transitive; FTP directory dates parse correctly
  • Emby/Jellyfin — expired sessions recover automatically; media types come from the server instead of size guessing
  • Player fixes — bookmarks open the correct file, playlist drag-and-drop lands where you drop it, subtitle preset colors render as shown
  • Windows (Tauri) — play/pause and progress now work (property subscriptions were being rejected), the player reconnects after closing the video window, and the volume slider clicks where you point

BrushLLM Player v0.0.5

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Oct 04:29

An open-source cross-platform media player built on mpv — plays virtually every format, streams from WebDAV / SMB / FTP / Emby / Jellyfin, and ships a 9-language UI.

What's new in 0.0.5 (macOS app)

  • Browser sorting — sort media server folders by name, modified date, or size; pick the same option again to flip ascending/descending. Works across WebDAV, SMB, FTP, Emby and Jellyfin.
  • Folder to playlist — right-click a folder in the browser and choose "Add to Playlist" to enqueue every playable file inside it, then the playlist panel opens automatically.
  • Smoother WebDAV streaming on 115/OpenList — the server's redirect is resolved once when a playlist entry starts, so pausing and seeking no longer re-trigger it.

What's new in 0.0.4

  • WebDAV on redirecting backends (115 / OpenList / AList) fixed — filenames with #/?/+ no longer break playback; pause/resume and seeking no longer kill the stream; thumbnails no longer get 403
  • Media servers can be edited — each server card gains an Edit button that reopens the connection form pre-filled
  • External subtitles show their file name in the track list
  • Fullscreen transitions are now smooth — the async-drawing mechanism covers the whole transition, not just edge drags
  • Hardware-decoding status reads "Active · VideoToolbox" instead of a raw decoder name
  • Stability: fixed a crash when scrubbing (thumbnail race), a freeze with hardware decoding off, and a 401 on WebDAV/FTP playback (credential double-encoding)
