Has your ADHD shaped how you use obsidian

Has your adhd (assuming your interest is because of your own diagnosis) shaped how you use obsidian, do you think? I find it incredibly difficult to do the MOC part (and generally the non-direct note taking elements) of obsidian, so my vault isn’t as helpful as it could be.

Absolutely 💯%

• Because of the poor working memory and velocity of thought quick capture is a critical need.
  • Sometimes this is Todoist because of the mobile/desktop-modal popup to quickly get 💭's out of my head
  • if in obsidian I can just make a new note and using my tagging system #📝️/🌱️ easily lets me find all these fledgling thoughts later
• The lack of folders/structure is double necessary for 2 presentations of ADHD (at least) for me
  • The cognitive load and / friction in having to file everything in folders and create the taxonomy of nested folders is HIGH
    * The other issue is, what happens if a note belongs in 2 folders far removed? tags/links/MOC's combat this
  • The Issues with Object Permanence^[1] for me mean that items filed away without easy retrieval (backlinks, search, MOC's) are forgotten and neglected
    * Random Search, MOC's, and Backlinks let me easily navigate the vault and the notes with no need for folder hierarchy
• The way I build MOC's with the [[tags]] links that don't exist mean I don't need to manage/track anything in regards to promoting a [[tag]] to a MOC I can just see a big red node on my graph, it's VISUALLY apparent
• ADHDers tend to be very visual and kinesthetic learners, but also, we(i) need far more input than normal. I can't watch videos on less than 2x speed or I go mad, podcasts the same 2x, I speed read at 600-700wpm, so visual elements that give lots of input while also adhering to a rigid and low maintenance cost taxonomy^[2]

• prioritizing quick capture and free form "organization"
