This is the fifth Beta release (0.9) of The Lunduke Computer Operating System (LCOS).

LCOS 0.9 was laser focused on bug fixing, with 350 bug fixes (across the system), along with improving hardware support.

This is the last significant update prior to the 1.0 release. Point updates (0.9.1, 0.9.2, etc.) will be strictly for bug fixing.

It is highly recommended that users do a fresh install of LCOS 0.9 in order to properly test this release.

Noteworthy Changes from 0.8 to 0.9:

  • Improved hardware support for AMD GPUs, AMD power management, laptop support for a number of vendors (Dell, Apple, Acer, Asus, HP, Surface, etc.), USB Ethernet and Serial adapters, MediaTek & Realtek wifi, improved laptop audio chipset support, and more.
  • Improved virtualization support (VMWare, VirtualBox, KVM support).
  • Better SMB support.
  • Lunduke Paint: 84 bugs fixed.
  • Lunduke Edit: 63 bugs fixed.
  • Lunduke City: 66 bugs fixed.
  • Fixes, optimizations, and speed improvements throughout the system.

Reminder: LCOS 0.9 is a Beta release and, while it is a fully functional (and awesome) system, it is primarily for testing purposes. Report any hardware issues (or other bugs) on GitHub, on X (@LundukeJournal), or on Forum.Lunduke.com.
