RF Sentinel 2.30.0
RF Sentinel 2.30.0
New: live read card
- While Locate follows a device, or a flagged device is being pinpointed, a card on the map (full screen and the main screen's map) and under the floating map shows what it is, its flag, a signal bar, the dBm, the rough distance and whether it's getting closer. Its ✕ stops Locate or hides the card.
- Locate now keeps beeping when you leave the device screen to look at the map; it stops with Stop, the card's ✕, stopping the scan, or when the device is gone.
GPS
- A GPS dot in the main screen's status: red without a position, yellow when rougher than 20 m, green at 20 m or better, with the accuracy.
- Settings > Alerts: Say GPS connected can be turned off.
- GNSS spoofing signs are stricter: a sign must hold 15 s; alike satellites count only when spread over the sky; a vanished system only right after it was heard; a clock gap must be 60 s over 3 fixes and only with a network-set clock; a jump only when the next fixes confirm it; rough fixes are skipped.
Hardware
- Plugging in an SDR, ESP32 board or USB WiFi adapter: Android offers RF Sentinel. Tick Always and it never asks again. RF Sentinel only asks itself if that didn't give access. (Boards with CP210x / CH340 chips, like many Arduinos, bring up the offer too.)
- OUI-SPY: Settings > OUI-SPY engines chooses which of the board's engines run (turn the Flock ones off where there are no Flock cameras). Phone Bluetooth scan with OUI-SPY off lets the board do the Bluetooth scanning while it's live; the phone's scan comes back if the board drops out. Use it with Relay everything on.
- Radio sensitivity goes down to 6 dB above the noise, to test how far a TETRA radio carries (below about 10 dB expect some flicker).
- Meshtastic: choose the node's channel slot (never the primary) and the hops (default 1, so a city mesh isn't flooded). Still not tested on real hardware.
Alerts
- Fake tracker flood: the confidence is now a weighted score - the share of throwaway tags among all tags heard, how alike their signal strengths are, how many there are, and Find My keys no real tag can have. Crowds (theme parks, campuses) score low, and it never alerts again as a flood fades.
Match history
- Each match keeps the radio side: WiFi band (2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz), channel, security and standard; Bluetooth address type, connectable, PHY and TX power. The device or network name shows before the address.
Identification
- LG Innotek and Alps radio modules no longer make a device a vehicle (an LG TV stays a TV); Denso Wave scanners aren't car parts.
Which file?
RFSentinel-v2.30.0-release.apk: the normal build (about 50 MB).RFSentinel-v2.30.0-foss.apk: free software only (about 28 MB).
Either file replaces the other, and your history and settings are kept. Detection only: RF Sentinel never transmits to the devices it detects; Sentinel Link sends encrypted messages to your own linked phones and Meshtastic node, only when you set it up.
