⚠️ BREAKING CHANGES ⚠️

  • Actions are now simple async functions
  • They can update their status and register teardown hooks using the action: ActionSession parameter
  • This makes it much easier to write new actions, and chain actions together in more-complex ways
  • Python function actions are removed, as they are now the default
  • Actions are no-longer named. Their name is automatically derived from the given function name

✨ NEW ✨

  • Actions can be infinitely-nested, with this being cleanly displayed in the output
  • The console output is much more concise, with irrelevant information automatically hiding after steps complete
  • Many more git operations are built-in actions

✏️ CHANGED ✏️

  • Actions automatically succeed if their associated promises resolve without exception
  • And they automatically fail if an exception is raised
  • Project is migrated from poetry to uv
  • MARKTEN_VERBOSITY environment variable can be used to control verbosity of output. Currently this just controls whether a traceback is printed on keyboard interrupt, but will be used in more places in future

🔧 FIXED 🔧

  • Git actions were sometimes performed in the wrong directory
