What's New in v2.2

This beta release includes major improvements to the Database Browser, UI polish, and critical bug fixes.

Fixed

  • Zone Filtering Bug: Database Browser now correctly filters by zone (was showing hundreds of creatures instead of ~11)
    • Root cause: Was grouping by creature before filtering by zone (creature_0 contamination)
    • Solution: Implemented filter-then-group approach
  • Settings UI Layout: Fixed overlapping elements in Settings panel
    • Reorganized bottom buttons to horizontal layout (Collection Progress, Database Browser, Scanner)
    • Moved 'Color Code Items by Status' checkbox right to prevent text overlap with left column
    • Adjusted Display Options background height to properly fit remaining checkboxes (155px)

Improved

  • Creature ID Display: Now shows Creature IDs for ALL NPCs in tooltips (not just those with vanity items)
    • Helpful for debugging and database research
  • Collection Progress Toggle: Collection Progress button now toggles frame open/closed (was one-way open)
  • UI Overlap Prevention: Database Browser and Scanner buttons now close Settings panel to prevent overlapping windows

Removed

  • Obsolete Features Cleanup:
    • Removed 'Show Region Information' checkbox (feature never implemented, superseded by integrated zone/subzone data)
    • Removed 'Show Collection Progress Frame' checkbox (redundant with Collection Progress toggle button)
    • Removed redundant 'Settings are saved automatically' footer text

Changed

  • Settings UI Polish:
    • Optimized frame height (720px)
    • Improved button layout and spacing
    • Cleaner checkbox organization

Testing

Please test zone filtering in Database Browser extensively - this was a critical bug fix. Refer to TEST_CHECKLIST_V2.2.md for comprehensive testing procedures.

See KNOWN_ISSUES.md for 3 creature ID mismatches that require manual research.

Installation

  1. Download and extract to your WoW AddOns folder
  2. /reload in-game
  3. Use /avanity to configure settings
