Features

  • Filter files and folders before Obsidian indexes the vault, without moving or deleting source files.
  • Use Syncthing-compatible rules, include exceptions and external rule files.
  • Set vault display names for labels and switching menus.
  • Validate settings before saving and recover from one previous working configuration.
  • Use English or Russian settings and offline syntax help.

Installation

Extract the ZIP's sieve folder into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/, enable Sieve and reopen the vault. For updates, preserve data.json and data.previous.json. The individual main.js, manifest.json and styles.css assets are also available.

Compatibility

Requires Obsidian 1.14.4 or later. Native desktop behavior has been tested on Windows; the matcher has also been checked against native Syncthing on Linux. macOS, iOS and Android have not been verified on devices. Rule changes apply after reopening the vault.
