Repeat offenders now serve longer each time.

Bans escalate

A ban was a flat six hours however many times an address came back, which is not a deterrent to anything automated — it is a schedule. A bot returning every evening paid the same price every evening and never ran out of evenings.

Each ban of the same address now lasts twice as long as the last:

Offence Ban
1st 6 hours
2nd 12 hours
3rd 1 day
4th 2 days
5th 4 days
… doubling, up to 30 days

The case that actually matters is untouched: someone who trips a limit once, and again months later, never reaches the interesting part of that curve, because the count decays from the last ban rather than the first (14 days by default).

Capped, because addresses get reassigned — today's persistent attacker is somebody's home connection next year, and a ban measured in decades would outlive any connection between the address and the behaviour.

Unbanning by hand clears the history, since an admin lifting a ban is saying it was wrong and the next one should not start halfway up the curve. A ban expiring on its own does not — remembering is the point.

All of it is tunable under FirewallBan in appsettings.json, including switching it off.

MinecraftFirewall-1.3.1-setup.exe You want it installed properly. Start here.
MinecraftFirewall-v1.3.1-win-x64.zip You would rather unzip it somewhere and run it yourself.

Everything in v1.3.0 is included — the player-initiated /premium name lock, automatic blocking of server-indexing crawlers, and the fix for upgrades from 1.1.0 leaving the Protection page inert.

476 automated tests pass.
