Release list
0.4.1
- Home, Library, Store, Versions, Help, Settings and Profile are laid out in proper columns, with no more touching cards, buttons or scrollbars
- The Store has a game of the day, sections and a page for each game; the favourite heart belongs to the Library
- The downloads tab opens from the right with the speed graph, the updates, the mods list, the games list and the history
- The search in the top bar suggests the closest games: one in the library opens there, any other opens in the Store
- The Library game page puts the mod download in "How it works" and shows what the mod does by category
- The Playable now shelf can be pulled sideways with the mouse
- The tray icon has a dark menu with shortcuts, and the window has the Cairn icon
- No colour of a game is used for the interface any more
0.4.0
- The master server keeps its folder, its executable name (CairnMasterServer.exe), its settings file (appsettings.json) and its API, so a server that is already deployed and the launchers of 0.3.x keep working.
- The build scripts do not treat cargo's progress output as an error
- The launcher is now a native Rust program: no .NET runtime or WebView2 to install.
- The executable keeps its name (Cairn.Launcher.exe), so shortcuts, the installer's identity and one-click updates carry over.
- Clippy lints in the tray icon and the in-game menu
- The notification-area icon with notices, the in-game menu drawn over the game (keyboard hook, overlay, menu navigation) and the icon in the executable
- Steam friends who host get a Join button, and Host, Join and Play finish the game's setup first
- Presence (friends on Cairn online, hosting and invitations through the master server's WebSocket)
- The game's saves page and option toggles, the Plus Jakarta Sans font, and the window's size and place kept between runs
- The updates drawer, the welcome guide, the quit confirmation, and the Check setup and Save logs tools
- Host and Join through the pack's session program (relay, launch, connect, Steam friends)
- The ready check, the setup checklist and Play for external mods (preflight, process and port checks, the bridge and the game watcher)
- Versions, Help, Profile and Settings pages, the friends menu, the update window and the services behind them (update check, Steam, logs)
- Home and Store pages, the release notes and the home data (recent sessions, wording of times)
- The Library page in egui (top bar, game list with folders, filters and search, the game page with its mod row, steps and features), the download queue and the mod service
- The launcher crate, the state layer (settings store, list prefs, window prefs, game paths, the game registry with its shipped game, the library list) and the picture loader
- Cairn-setup, the bridge server (a local socket with a name nobody can guess), and a Rust job in CI
- Cairn-setup, the pack program's clients (setup checklist, session) and the shared process runner
- Cairn-setup, the catalog client, dependency planning and release channels, and the external installer
- Cairn-setup, packs (the contract, the catalog entry, the store with its rollback, the verifying downloader) and the HTTP trait
- Cairn-setup, second part (the catalog and game.json, ready checks, game options and the pack program runner, the bridge protocol)
- Cairn-setup, first part (VDF, Steam libraries and app manifests, redaction, Steam identity and profile status, install manifests)
- The Rust workspace, with cairn-protocol (the master and presence API, the release version comparison, the settings.json editor)
0.3.38
- A mod whose game needs a start option to load the mod (Far Cry: -DEVMODE -MOD:...) names the arguments next to its launch program
- Rename project in README and add license section
- The profile page says whether Steam is missing or not signed in, with a button to get or start it
- Remove the Cairn logo and name from the top bar
0.3.37
- Dark theme setup styling with high-DPI branding assets for Windows installer
0.3.36
- The window's smallest size follows the monitor's scale (the page reports it) and is 1200 x 720 of page, so the top bar is never cut; the Updates panel scrolls on a short window
0.3.35
- The update check reads update.json from the newest release (a plain download), so it no longer runs into the GitHub API's 60 requests an hour; the API stays as the fallback
0.3.34
- The window has a minimum size (1100 x 660, scaled to the screen) so the pages never get squeezed
- The top bar sheds its words (the name, "Friends") before it overflows; the Home tiles wrap to two columns sooner
0.3.33
- Updates no longer delete every mod's programs: the installer's clean-up leaves downloaded mods alone (this is what made each update ask for the mod again)
- A mod that lost files is offered for download again at start, and Play checks a mod's own setup first (Fallout 4: the F4SE step)
- Saves: a long list of saves was dropped, so KCD2's saved games showed as empty
- Store: a page for each game with the mod's features in tabs and its facts, a back button that stays in view, and the Store button returns to the list
- Library: only the games you added; Remove from library; the mouse's side buttons go back and forward
- Fallout 4: the official background; KCD2's description matches the other games'
0.3.32
- Ready check: a mod that is downloaded but waiting for the game says so, instead of asking for the download again
- Game page: the Settings button is there for every game, mod downloaded or not
- Setup checklist: a mod with a setup program is never reported too old; the last good list stays while the program is busy
0.3.31
- Friends button: the online count is a quiet 'N online' with a green dot, not a notification badge
- Updates by hand: no automatic installs, no update pop-ups or Home banner, an orange dot next to versions; the setup check retries and no longer says the mod is too old when it just did not answer
