FastCompress Public Preview

This is a document-only public preview for FastCompress.

No public Windows executable is attached yet. This preview is intended to make
the product direction, Free/Pro model, and release blockers visible before a
downloadable beta is packaged.

What FastCompress Is

FastCompress is a simple Windows video compression app for shrinking videos
without learning codec settings. The app is built around presets and target file
sizes so users can choose where a video is going and get a smaller file.

Free Behavior

FastCompress Free keeps core compression available:

• single-file compression
• platform presets
• target file size support
• no watermark

Pro Gates

FastCompress Pro is planned and implemented as a workflow and convenience
unlock. Pro gates apply to:

• batch compression
• folder queues
• saved presets
• advanced encoder/hardware controls
• parallel processing
• compression reports

Public EXE Blockers

Before a public Windows executable is attached, the following items must be
completed:

• create FastCompress Lemon Squeezy product/variant
• set FASTCOMPRESS_LEMON_PRO_PRODUCT_ID
• set FASTCOMPRESS_PRO_CHECKOUT_URL
• test activate/deactivate/reactivate
• test wrong-product key
• test missing-config behavior
• build and smoke-test Windows package

FastCompress Windows Beta 0.1.0

FastCompress Windows Beta

FastCompress is now available as a Windows beta package.

This beta includes the desktop app and a tools placeholder folder. FFmpeg is
not bundled; users must provide ffmpeg.exe and ffprobe.exe in the tools
folder, next to the executable, or on PATH.

What FastCompress Does

FastCompress helps shrink video files using presets or a target file size,
without complicated codec setup.

FastCompress Free keeps core compression available:

• The Windows package is an early beta.
• The app is not an installer.
• Code signing is not configured yet.
• FFmpeg is not bundled.
• Pro checkout and Lemon Squeezy activation are configured for the beta build.
