Snapwise 1.3.0

@CapiZerbino CapiZerbino released this 20 Oct 13:15

What's new: Drag & Convert

Inspired by Tangerine. While dragging files anywhere — Finder, the desktop, other apps — tap a modifier to open a wheel under the pointer, then drop on a bubble. The result is saved next to the original; everything runs on your Mac.

  • ⇧ Convert — images ↔ PNG, JPG, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP, PDF, ICO, ICNS · video → MP4, MOV, M4A, GIF · audio → M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, CAF · PDF → page images at 300 DPI, TXT, RTF · DOCX/RTF/HTML/TXT/ODT/Markdown ↔ DOCX, PDF, RTF, HTML, TXT, ODT · CSV ↔ TSV, HTML
  • ⌘ Tools — compress, resize 50 %, rotate, flip, remove metadata, remove background, copy text (OCR), annotate, combine images into a PDF · compress / 720p / mute / first frame / trim video · merge, split, rotate, compress PDF · ZIP, TAR.GZ, extract archives
  • ⌃ Actions — AirDrop, float on screen, copy, move to folder, copy path, open in Terminal

Tap another key (or hover its tab) to switch wheels; Esc or releasing elsewhere closes it. Keys are configurable in Settings › Convert. Convert Files… in the menu (or its shortcut) opens the same wheel for picked files, usable by click or ← → ↩ Tab.

Existing files are never overwritten (name 2.png). Not available because macOS has no built-in encoder: WebP, MP3, Opus, MKV/WebM, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB output.

Install

  1. Download Snapwise-1.3.0.zip, unzip, move Snapwise.app to Applications (replace the old copy).
  2. Signed with a development certificate and not notarized: on first launch right-click › Open, or allow it in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
  3. Drag & Convert and window snapping need Accessibility access. If they stop responding after updating, toggle Snapwise off and on under Privacy & Security › Accessibility.

Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel).

What's new

  • Annotate editor — after Copy or Save (Save to folder or Save As…, including ⌘C / ⌘S), the editor closes by itself and the capture's Quick Access card slides away with it. Switch either off in Settings › Screenshots › Annotate editor. .snapwise project files stay open.
  • Quick Access — as in 1.1.0, a card slides off the screen edge after Copy or Save (Settings › Quick Access).

Install

  1. Download Snapwise-1.2.0.zip, unzip, move Snapwise.app to Applications (replace the old copy).
  2. Signed with a development certificate and not notarized: on first launch right-click › Open, or allow it in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
  3. If window snapping stops responding after updating, toggle Snapwise off and on under Privacy & Security › Accessibility.

Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel).

Snapwise 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@CapiZerbino CapiZerbino released this 15 Oct 01:16

What's new

  • Quick Access — after Copy or Save, the preview card now slides off the screen edge on its own. Each can be switched off in Settings › Quick Access ("Close after copying" / "Close after saving"). A card only closes when the save actually succeeded.
  • Window snapping — new Move to Edge actions push a window against the left, right, top or bottom edge without resizing it (default ⌃⌥⇧ + arrows). Every snap direction has its own shortcut, editable in Settings › Snapping › Layouts or Settings › Shortcuts.

Fixes

  • snapwise://snap-… links (e.g. from Shortcuts or Raycast) now act on the window you were using; before, opening the link brought Snapwise forward and nothing was snapped.

Install

  1. Download Snapwise-1.1.0.zip, unzip, move Snapwise.app to Applications (replace the old copy).
