v0.7.3

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Sep 08:22

Crash doctor, cloning and a new logo

  • When a game server or files app crashes, or its install fails, the
console says why: out of memory, the wrong Java version, the EULA, a
port in use, a missing start file or package, a full disk or a damaged
world. Where it can, it offers the fix in one click: more memory or
disk, the right Java image, accepting the EULA or a reinstall.
  • Clone a game server or files app from its menu. The copy gets the
same settings, limits and files, new ports from the pool for the same
jobs, and fresh RCON and admin passwords where Zelie made the old
    ones. It starts stopped.
  • A new logo.

More games, and ports that stay together

  • Eighteen more games in the list: Minecraft Vanilla, Purpur, Fabric,
Forge, NeoForge, Velocity and Bedrock, Valheim, ARK: Survival
Ascended, 7 Days to Die, Project Zomboid, Enshrouded, V Rising, Sons
of the Forest, Counter-Strike 2, Garry's Mod, Squad and Satisfactory.
Each egg is checked automatically on every change.
  • New servers get strong random admin and RCON passwords where the egg
leaves them empty or as a placeholder, and a short random join
password where the egg's is a placeholder.
  • Games that use the ports right after their own, like Valheim and
7 Days to Die, get them together.
  • Game servers may open far more files at once, as large and Wine-based
    servers need.
  • The new game picker groups the kinds of a game and has a search box.
  • A stop command of Ctrl+C now sends the right signal.

Polish: editor, save bar, game metrics

  • Files open in a code editor with colours for the language: JSON,
JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, C and C++, Java, Python, YAML, XML, HTML,
CSS, Markdown, PHP, SQL, shell, TOML, Lua and config files. A broken
JSON file shows where it breaks, and saving it asks first. The editor
loads only when a file is opened.
  • Star files and folders in the file manager to keep them at the top.
Favourites belong to your account and follow a rename.
  • Settings forms keep a bar at the top as you scroll, with Save, Undo
and Reset, and ask before you leave with unsaved changes.
  • Game servers have a Metrics tab with CPU, memory and network over the
    last hour or day.
  • Memory and CPU in the header turn amber above 70 % of the limit and
    red above 90 %.
  • Steam games show their installed build while they run.

SFTP, and game servers you can change after creating them

  • An SFTP server for game servers and files apps, on port 2222 unless you
choose another on the Server page. Log in with an SSH key added on the
Account page, or with a password made for one server and shown once.
An account's own password never works over SFTP. A login reaches that
server's files and nothing else, and databases are out of its reach.
  • The SFTP server starts when someone connects and stops after five idle
minutes, so it uses no memory while nobody needs it.
  • Choose which port of the pool each use of a game server gets, such as
the game, query, RCON or Rust+ port, when you create it and later on
    the Network tab.
  • Change a game server's memory, CPU and disk on its Settings tab.
  • Administrators can change every setting of a game server, including
the ones its egg locks, the startup command and the image.
  • The game server header shows its limits, and its memory and CPU use
    while it runs.
  • A new app no longer shows the install log of a deleted one, and an
app's logs are removed with it.
  • The install says which way to reach the panel suits whom, and stops
before changing anything when ports 80 and 443 are taken.
  • New README and docs.

Game servers, files apps and a file manager

  • Game servers from Pterodactyl and Pelican eggs: Minecraft (Paper), Rust,
Palworld, or any egg by its address. A live console, startup settings,
backups and schedules, and ports opened in the firewall for you.
  • Rust and other Steam games show when Steam has a newer build, and can
update themselves once nobody is playing.
  • A file manager for game servers and files apps.
  • Files apps: run your own Node.js, Python, Bun, Deno or Java files as an
app, with a domain, HTTPS and linked databases.
  • The address players use is found on the machine and can be changed on
    the Server page.
  • Minecraft's EULA is asked for when a server is made.
  • Less memory while idle.

Login security

Wrong passwords and codes are counted in the database, so restarting
the panel no longer resets the limits, and a blocked login says how
long to wait. After a few failures from one address, the browser
solves a short proof of work before each try; nothing goes to a third
party.

If you are locked out, run zelie reset-login on the server. It prints
a one-time link, good for an hour, that sets a new password and removes
the account's second steps, which the panel asks you to set up again.

The New app page lists only where an app comes from; databases have
their own page, linked below.

Metrics

A new Metrics tab shows an app's last hour or day: requests a minute
with the 5xx answers among them, CPU, memory and network traffic in and
out, with the crashes of the last day. The proxy counts the requests;
readings are taken once a minute and kept for a day.

The app header adds requests a minute, the share of server errors over
the last five minutes, and crashes today.

Database and image updates

Apps and databases now run their image pinned by digest. Before, every
start pulled the tag again, so a restart or a crash could move a
database to a newer build, or an app on a moving tag to a new version,
with no backup first.

Once a day Zelie checks whether an image's tag points at a newer build.
The app page then shows it, with versions when the image gives them,
and Update deploys it. A database is backed up first; if the new build
does not start, the old one runs again.

A database can be upgraded to a new major version from its Settings
tab. Its data moves over as a dump onto a new volume; the old files are
kept on the Storage tab until you remove them.

v0.2.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Sep 19:56
  • The app page shows how long the live version has run. An update of Zelie does not reset it; a crash or a server restart does.
  • Memory, CPU and uptime sit on their own line under the app's name, so the buttons stay in place on every screen.

v0.2.5

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Sep 19:44
  • The app page shows the memory and CPU the app uses now, on every tab.
  • Stop and Restart ask first. Every other question the panel asks, such as deleting a volume or a backup, opens the same dialog.
  • When pushes deploy on their own, deploying by hand is in the "…" menu.
  • "by Cariacore" next to the name links to cariacore.com.
