Aura v1.7.2
This release is the first major follow up to Drones.
The last release introduced the Drone system. This one makes that system feel like part of Aura.

Drones now have a real place in the main workflow. They can be dragged into the Workbay, and are part of the normal project experience instead of feeling like a separate experiment bolted onto the side.
Highlights
Drones are now part of the main Aura workspace
Drones now sit directly in the main UI alongside Projects, chat, files, Worker activity, and the Workbay.
The intended loop is now much clearer:
Pick a project → choose or build a Drone → run it → drag it into a workflow
This is the direction Aura has been moving toward: not just chatting with an agent, but turning agent work into visible, reusable machinery.
Workbay is becoming the workflow surface
The Workbay has been tightened up around Drone composition.
Drones can now be treated as actual workflow pieces, not just one-off runs. This is the beginning of Aura’s visual workflow layer, where reusable agent-made tools can be chained together into something larger.
Planner and Worker tool flow is much better
A lot of work went into the internal tool path used by Planner and Worker.
The old flow could waste time thrashing through files, especially when search was unreliable. This release improves that core loop so Aura can find code, inspect files, and move through a project more efficiently.
That means less wandering, less useless tool churn, and a better chance that Worker gets to the file it needs and makes the edit cleanly.
Improved
- Drone visibility in the main Aura UI
- Drag-and-drop Drone workflow composition
- Workbay integration with Drones
- Planner and Worker tool efficiency
- Project search and grep reliability
- File discovery during Worker runs
- General stability across the Drone and Workbay loop
Notes
Aura 1.7.20 is not just a patch release. It is the release where Drones start becoming the core product idea.
Last week, Aura got Drones.
This week, Aura started becoming a workshop.
