Deckle v0.5.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 03:59
6ec7c3c

Deckle 0.5.2

New

  • Pick the font for your paper's title. Choose Blackletter (the old look), Serif or Sans, or use any .ttf font file of your own. Find it under The paper → Title font on the Daily tab. It changes the title on the cover and the PDF edition. Inside the book, your Kindle's own font still applies.

Fixed

  • The Upgrades screen no longer offers books it can't upgrade. Older MOBI books that Deckle can't rebuild are now left alone, and the screen says how many.

Pre-alpha. The Kobo, PocketBook and reMarkable support is still untried on real devices.

macOS: signed and notarized by Apple.
Windows: code-signed by Casa Vargas LLC.
Requires Kindle Previewer 4 (free, from Amazon).

Deckle 0.5.0

Your morning paper can now go beyond the Kindle, and Deckle can now fix up the books already on your Kindle.

Your paper, on more devices

  • Send it to an iPad or Boox through iCloud Drive or Dropbox.
  • Send it to a reMarkable.
  • Send it to a Kobo or PocketBook.
  • Look back at any past paper: browse, search, and send an old one to your Kindle again.
  • The Daily tab is easier to find your way around.

Your books

  • Upgrade the books already on your Kindle (the DRM-free ones) so they read like store books. Your original copy is kept, and you can undo it.
  • See everything on your Kindle: what you've read, what you haven't.
  • Free up space, and back up and restore your books and highlights.
  • The Books tab now shows your whole library, with search and series.
  • Send PDFs, Word documents and text files.
  • Combine several files into one book.
  • Export the words you looked up to Anki.

Pre-alpha. The Kobo, PocketBook and reMarkable support is new and hasn't been tried on real devices yet.

macOS: signed and notarized by Apple.
Windows: code-signed by Casa Vargas LLC.
Requires Kindle Previewer 4 (free, from Amazon).
