Sound Lab 1.2.2
Sound Lab 1.2.2 adds MP3 Layer III decoding on the Teak DSP.
- Stream MP3 through the existing audio API.
- Compare DSP and ARM11 decoding in Sound Lab.
- Live decoder and DSP-load monitor, plus reduced Delay overhead.
Install the CIA or use the 3DSX/SMDH with the Homebrew Launcher. Put WAV/AAC/MP3 files in sdmc:/3ds/opendsp-lab/. AAC and MP3 use the DSP by default; press X in the player to switch to ARM11.
MP3 supports MPEG-1 Layer III, mono/stereo, 32/44.1/48 kHz and 32-320 kbit/s.
See MP3 formats and API and the streaming guide.
Sound Lab 1.2.1
Sound Lab 1.2.1 uses the new streaming API for WAV and AAC playback.
- Stream audio from SD or RomFS in your own games.
- Lower AAC memory use and less streaming overhead.
- Queue and underrun counters in Sound Lab.
Install the CIA or use the 3DSX/SMDH with the Homebrew Launcher. Put WAV/AAC files in sdmc:/3ds/opendsp-lab/. AAC uses the DSP by default; press X to switch to ARM11.
See the streaming guide for the API and example.
Sound Lab 1.2.0
Sound Lab 1.2.0 adds AAC-LC playback on the Teak DSP, alongside the mixer, reverb and delay.
- AAC uses the DSP by default. Press X in the player to switch to ARM11.
- The player shows the active backend and total DSP load.
- Decoder scheduling, FFT, Huffman, TNS and output processing have been optimized without changing PCM output.
Install the CIA or use the 3DSX/SMDH with the Homebrew Launcher. Put WAV/AAC files in sdmc:/3ds/opendsp-lab/.
DSP decoding supports AAC-LC ADTS, mono/stereo, 8–48 kHz and one block per frame. ARM11 remains available for higher rates and multi-block files. See AAC.md.
