v4.0.1 - Fix hook_runner.py integration and balloon notifications

Fixes

All platforms now use hook_runner.py

The v4.0.0 installer configured bash hook scripts on Unix (macOS/Linux/WSL), which bypassed hook_runner.py entirely. This meant desktop notifications, TTS, and stdin context parsing were never invoked.

Fixed: The installer now configures python3 ~/.claude/hooks/hook_runner.py <hook_type> on all platforms, enabling the full v4.0 feature set everywhere.

Non-blocking balloon notifications on WSL/Windows

Replaced System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox (blocking modal dialog requiring a click to dismiss) with NotifyIcon.ShowBalloonTip (non-blocking system tray balloon that auto-dismisses after 5 seconds).

This affects:

• hook_runner.py — Full Install desktop notifications on WSL and Windows
• quick-setup.sh — Lite tier WSL hooks

Documentation

• Updated CLAUDE.md settings.json example to show correct python3 hook_runner.py format with timeout: 10

Upgrade

If you installed v4.0.0, re-run the installer to update your ~/.claude/settings.json:

cd claude-code-audio-hooks
bash scripts/install-complete.sh --yes

Or manually update ~/.claude/settings.json to replace bash hook paths with:

"python3 ~/.claude/hooks/hook_runner.py stop"
