GelBox v1.0.1 Release Notes

GelBox is a fork of Gelatinarm, a Jellyfin media client for Xbox and Windows, with new features, UI improvements, and bug fixes.

New Features

  • Volume Normalization — Configurable loudness normalization for music playback with adjustable target level, ensuring consistent volume across tracks
  • Manageable Song Queue — Expandable queue panel in the music player showing Previously Played, Now Playing, and Up Next sections with the ability to remove or tap-to-play queue items
  • Home Screen Recommendations — Separate Movie Recommendations, TV Show Recommendations, and Music Recommendations sections on the home page, each individually toggleable in settings
  • Latest TV Shows — New Latest TV Shows row on the home page
  • Home Screen Settings — New settings section to show/hide Movies, TV Shows, and Music content on the home page
  • Shuffle Playback — Shuffle mode now starts from a random track and the queue panel displays the actual shuffled playback order
  • About Section — Settings page now includes an About section with version info and links to GelBox and Gelatinarm GitHub repos

  • Modernized UI — Updated styles across login, server selection, settings, details, search, and favorites pages with rounded corners, card-based layouts, and improved spacing
  • Updated Branding — New app name, logo, icons, tiles, and splash screen
  • Accent Color Gradient — Optional gradient accent color toggle in Appearance settings, with slider accent support
  • Music Library Defaults — Music libraries now default to showing albums instead of individual tracks
  • Login Page Refresh — Redesigned login and server selection pages
  • Playlist Ordering — Playlists now play in their user-defined order instead of alphabetical
  • Controller Focus — Improved Xbox controller navigation for music player controls

  • Fixed playback reporting not updating correctly
  • Fixed playlist playback crash
  • Fixed music player null reference errors when closing the player during state updates
  • Fixed Shuffle All button not working when music library defaults to albums
  • Fixed music recommendations not appearing on the home page

  • Fixed shuffle always starting on the same first song
