Changes since v2.1.0

Speaker Mode (new)

  • Shifts the song to your guitar instead of the guitar to the song. Play an
Eb song on an E-standard guitar and the music comes to you.
  • Works with a plain Real Tone cable: no RS_ASIO, no audio interface, and no
    MultiPitch tone required.
  • The full song is pitch-rendered ahead of playback into temporary audio, so
gameplay has zero added latency and the song's length is unchanged. Menu
    previews are shifted live.
  • The chart tuning is read automatically at the pre-song tuner; songs entered
through an instant transition with no tuner synchronize at the start of
gameplay instead, so a song can never play at the previous song's pitch.
  • Any chart shape works: uniform, drop and open tunings. For non-uniform
shapes the tuner guides the physical retune string by string, and routes
are named from the game's own tuning list (Speaker: Eb Drop Db -> Drop D
    (+1), Open G -> Open A (+2)).
  • F7 now cycles Off, Drop Pedal and Speaker Mode.

Multiplayer Drop Pedal (new)

  • Both players are shifted independently on both engines: [Asio.Input.0] is
Player 1 and [Asio.Input.1] is Player 2, each with their own target and
base tuning. Hold Control with the pedal keys to address Player 2.
  • The Cable engine attributes each tone's pitch pedal and each player's note
    detection to the right player.
  • Guitar, emulated bass and physical bass arrangements supported per input.
  • The overlay shows one row per player with that pedal's own state, plus a
"No pedal in tone" indicator on the Cable engine.

Audio interface support

  • The ASIO engine accepts the formats and buffer sizes real interfaces use:
    Float32, Int32, Int24 and Int16 input formats, buffer sizes from 1 to 4096
frames, and the two inputs may use different channels of the same driver.

Game version support

  • Rocksmith 2014 Remastered (September 2022 update): fully playable,
    including multiplayer.
  • Learn & Play (December 2024 update): supported, with partial multiplayer
    functionality currently.

Controls

  • F7 cycles Off, Drop Pedal and Speaker Mode.
  • Base tuning is now a single key: F9 cycles E, Eb, D and so on, wrapping
back to E. Hold Control for Player 2. DropPedalBaseTuningKey replaces the
    old up/down pair in RSMods.ini.

Fixes and reliability

  • Chart sync no longer fails when an in-tune guitar passes the tuner quickly.
  • Pedal keys route through the game's keybinding system; the dedicated
polling thread is gone and per-frame overhead is reduced.
  • Drop Pedal settings and rebindable keys in the settings app (Tuning tab).
  • Pointer reads are validated and song-timer reads are guarded during pause
    and difficulty transitions.
  • Debug logging trimmed to meaningful events; failures still log for bug
    reports.

Quality of life for cable users

  • Now displays "No pedal in tone" if the current tone selected doesn't contain a multipitch effect, making it obvious if its active or not.

Other

  • Version string is now RSModsPlus 3.0 (based on RSMods 1.2.8.2).
  • Every build archives its dll, pdb and linker map for crash diagnosis.

Install

Download xinput1_3.dll and place it next to Rocksmith2014.exe, replacing
the RSMods DLL. Back up an existing RSMods xinput1_3.dll first if you want
to restore plain RSMods later. Speaker Mode also requires the matching
RSMods folder from this release, because its helper and decode tools
prepare the temporary full-song audio.
