ClearPDF V5.1 (app version 2.1.1)
Sorry about V5. The V5 APKs were built before a few pull requests had been cleanly merged, so some fixes I mentioned weren't in them, for example files opening in their own window. V5.1 is built from
mainwith everything merged. The V5 APKs stay available below.
ClearPDF is a free, open-source PDF editor and reader for Android. You can edit the text already in a PDF, fill and sign forms, annotate, edit Excel (XLSX) spreadsheets, view Word and PowerPoint files, and scan documents. Everything runs on your device, with a Liquid Glass interface you can tune yourself.

Updating? Install it over V4 or V5. It's signed with the same key, so your files, bookmarks and settings stay. Add this repository to Obtainium to get update notifications.
✨ What's new in V5.1
📝 Fill PDF forms right on the page
- Form fields are now drawn with Liquid Glass controls: frosted text fields, glossy checkboxes and radio buttons, a dropdown with a glass menu, and list boxes that scroll and highlight the chosen item.
- Tap any field to fill it where it's printed. Text uses the form's own size, alignment and colour. A bar above the keyboard moves to the previous or next field.
- Values are saved into the form itself, and they work with undo, Save and Share. Dark reader mode is supported too. (#68)
✏️ Edit only what you select
- Select some words and tap Edit text. Only those words change, in the document's own font, weight and style, and the rest of the line moves to fit.
- The preview is the real edited page, so what you see is what gets saved.
🔍 Sharp text at any zoom (#29)
- When you zoom in, ClearPDF re-renders the visible part of the page at your screen's resolution, so text and fine diagrams stay crisp. This applies to PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files.
🪟 Its own window (#29)
- Files opened from WhatsApp, a file manager or another app now open in their own ClearPDF window. They no longer run inside the other app, so you can switch between the two. Closing the document takes you back.
📊 PowerPoint fixes (#29)
- Slide titles that sit near the top of a slide are no longer cut off. Titles also use the template's own style, such as ALL CAPS, matching PowerPoint.
- The built-in renderer now draws template backgrounds and colours, and inherits text alignment from the slide master.

Notes
- Forms: text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes can be filled. Push buttons that run scripts in other viewers, such as Submit or Hide field, aren't run.
- Privacy and network: documents are processed on your device and are never uploaded. See PRIVACY.md.
- F-Droid: this release adds a free-software-only build flavor and store metadata for F-Droid.
