v2.5.4-linux.wiicompiled.4
Wheel Wizard for Linux / Steam Deck
Prebuilt manager for this fork. Mario Kart Wii is not included.
Put the app anywhere you like. In Wheel Wizard, set Settings → Location → Mario Kart Wii Game File to your legal dump, wherever it already lives. You do not have to copy the ROM into a special folder. WiiCompiled needs a clean PAL RMCP01 dump.
Home Install then downloads Retro Rewind and the WiiCompiled AppImage and compiles the native game in-app.
On SteamOS and other read-only Linux systems, Install uses Distrobox. If Distrobox or Podman is missing, Wheel Wizard installs them (userspace first; a terminal password prompt on SteamOS if the OS packages are required) and compiles inside the container.
Downloads
- WheelWizard-linux-x64.zip — app, launcher script, and an optional desktop-shortcut helper
- WheelWizard_Linux — single executable, same idea as official Wheel Wizard Linux builds
Run it
- Unzip (or copy the single binary) wherever you want.
chmod +x WheelWizard launch-wheel-wizard.sh- Run
./launch-wheel-wizard.shor./WheelWizard - In the app, point Mario Kart Wii Game File at your dump
- Press Install if you do not already have WiiCompiled
- Optional: run
./install-desktop-shortcut.shto add a Steam Deck / desktop launcher for that folder
This build
- My Profiles reads the WiiCompiled Retro Rewind save, so licenses show after you play
- Distrobox is required on SteamOS / immutable Linux, and Install sets it up
- Downloads Distrobox and a userspace Podman when they are missing
- Opens a SteamOS terminal for
pacmanif a password is needed - One-click compile on other Linux distros still works on the host when Distrobox is not needed
- Mod Browser labels WiiCompiled + Dolphin vs Dolphin only
- Convert to patches writes loose Pulsar files the game can load
This is not the official Flatpak. That build is still Windows-only for WiiCompiled.
