dwm-titus v0.6.1
This release replaces the withdrawn v0.6.0 release. The v0.6.0 Fedora images
could leave user XDG directories owned by root, breaking the installed desktop
for the created user.
Highlights
- Fixes Fedora image XDG ownership by separating the privileged system install
from the unprivileged user install, preserving existing directory modes, and
safely dropping privileges during direct root installs. - Rejects direct root installs without a non-root target before building or
writing system files, and rejects non-Fedora power-management mutations
before scanning or changing the system. - Adds the Phase 2 Displays and Input settings, including rollback, profiles,
persistence, and a narrowly scoped privileged display helper. - Adds NVIDIA ForceFullCompositionPipeline discovery and safe persistence,
while leaving unsupported drivers unchanged. - Replaces Flameshot with reliable X11-native
maimandxclipscreenshot
handling and fixes stale Quickshell notifications. - Includes the complete v0.6.0 feature set, including the Settings foundation,
Herdr integration and multi-monitor shell behavior. - Narrows the supported platform and all installer, CI, test, and documentation
contracts to Fedora so release qualification exercises the shipped product. - Runs repository tests in an isolated directory below
${HOME}/tmpby default
and removes the task-owned test directory on success, failure, or interruption.

Validation
- Release-source commit:
8b40dfe6a376dfaf8367d8178c39444b073ba261 - Fedora Server 44 netinst source checksum verified against Fedora's signed
checksum file. - Repository, nested-X11, Fedora container, QML, documentation, and
reproducible release checks passed locally and on the exact pull-request
head. - Both installer images were rebuilt from the merged release commit and
inspected for the expected embedded checkout, selected Kickstart, and boot
arguments. - The standard image completed an automated Fedora 44 UEFI installation and
first boot. The installed system reachedgraphical.targetwith LightDM,
Xorg, dwm, and managed Quickshell active, zero failed system or user units,
and user-owned XDG directories.
Known limitations
- NVIDIA packaging and image contents are validated, but proprietary-driver
behavior is not claimed without a physical NVIDIA hardware test. - The dedicated Fedora images retain the project's documented SELinux-disabled
policy.
