Drying Table
The Drying Table is used to dry out fresh plant matter - things like Cannabis Leaves or Coca Leaves - into their dried form, which is needed for smoking, crafting, and some Fluid Crafting recipes.
Craft one with 6 Planks and 1 Redstone Dust.
The Drying Table has 9 input slots and 1 output slot. To start drying, all 9 input slots need to be filled with the same item - it won't start with a partial or mixed stack.
Drying speed depends on light and biome temperature, shown by hovering over the sun icon on the side of the GUI:
- Light - based on the light level directly above the table, clamped between 10% and 100%. It doesn't need direct sunlight specifically, just light reaching it from above.
- Biome Temperature - based on the biome's temperature, also clamped between 10% and 100%. Hotter biomes dry things faster.
- Total Speed - Light and Biome Temperature multiplied together, this is the actual rate the drying progress bar fills at.
If it's raining directly above the table, drying stops completely until it stops raining - the sun icon will show a warning instead of the usual breakdown.
Hovering over the progress bar shows how far along the current batch is, and an estimated time left:
At 100% Total Speed, a batch takes 100 seconds (2000 ticks) by default - this can be changed by a server admin in the Config. Once a batch finishes, 1 item is consumed from each of the 9 input slots, the dried result is added to the output slot, and a small amount of XP is granted.
The Drying Table can be automated with hoppers. Hoppers feeding in from above (not recommended as it'll block the sky) or the sides will fill the 9 input slots. A hopper placed underneath will pull the dried result out of the output slot.
