Quadra 0.32
Quadra 0.32 adds Metal on Vulkan (experimental) and includes the prebuilt bridge in the Arch, Debian/Ubuntu and Fedora packages.
Select Settings → Environment → Game → Renderer → Metal on Vulkan (experimental) and use the native Wayland window backend. Restart Roblox after changing renderers. Packaged installs need no Rust compiler; the first Metal launch upgrades and caches Roblox's shaders.
- Fixes the startup crash caused by Darling treating a Metal layer as a bitmap. Vulkan now presents through the window's own Wayland subsurface.
- Keeps switching back to OpenGL clean by clearing the previous renderer's framework environment.
- Uses immutable host resource borrows and separate temporary files for concurrent shader-cache writers.
- Checks the Vulkan device and LLVM shader upgrader before starting Roblox, with a launcher error if they are unavailable.
Validation: Write a Letter joined and rendered its 3D world, character and UI for 90 seconds, presenting over 600 Vulkan frames on an RTX 3060 Ti with native Wayland. All 2,266 shader libraries and 40 compute kernels passed the shader census. The native regression suite and 236 Python tests passed, as did real AppKit keyboard/captured-mouse checks and exact GPU readback at 1× and 4× MSAA.
Experimental limits: longer gameplay, resize/minimize stress, other GPUs and X11 presentation need more testing. VR requires OpenGL or Vulkan/Zink. Flatpak does not include the Metal bridge yet. The intermittent FPS drop (#34) and brief freeze after leaving a game remain under investigation.
Fully close and reopen the launcher after updating. OpenGL remains the default.
Install .pkg.tar.zst on Arch derivatives, .deb on Ubuntu 24.04+/Debian 13+, or the binary .rpm on current Fedora. Darling/CiderDarling runtime downloads remain separate. Source archives and build recipes are attached with SHA256SUMS.
Quadra 0.31
Quadra 0.31 adds automatic recovery for blocked Roblox downloads and fixes right-drag mouse capture. It is the first release under the Quadra / QuadraHQ name at quadrahq.org; the logo stays the same.
- Roblox download HTTP 403 (#36): Quadra tries Roblox first, then retries a denied public version check or macOS client download through the Quadra cache on
korona. The same channel and upload are preserved. Account and game traffic stay on Roblox. Incomplete downloads leave the installed client intact. - RMB + LMB capture (#35): pressing left-click during captured right-drag camera movement now preserves right-drag motion. Either button can be released first without leaving the motion stream misclassified. Verified through real Darling AppKit in a private Wayland compositor.
- FPS-drop diagnostics (#34): a severe sustained FPS drop now leaves one automatic log marker even when verbose FPS logging is off. The intermittent 60-to-15 FPS drop remains undiagnosed; this release does not claim to fix it. Collect diagnostics while a drop is happening.
- Quadra migration: the command/package name is
quadrahq, and the app ID isorg.quadrahq.Quadra. Existing Cider and MacOBlox settings, cache and Darling session files migrate without replacing existing Quadra data. CiderDarling runtime identifiers and the current GitHub repositories remain compatible.
Validation: 233 Python tests and the native regression suite passed; the shim built successfully; the mouse-button sequence passed through real AppKit; and a complete client update succeeded through the deployed HTTPS mirror after forced primary HTTP 403s, preserving the previous client backup.
Known issues: the random FPS drop and the brief freeze after leaving a game remain under investigation.
Update Quadra, then fully close and reopen the launcher before starting Roblox.

The source archive, Arch recipe and source RPM are attached, with SHA256SUMS for verification.
Cider 0.30
Cider 0.30 adds experimental VR: Roblox's own VR mode on a headset, through your OpenXR runtime.
- VR headsets (experimental): the macOS Roblox client still contains Roblox's VR mode, and Cider now supplies the OpenXR device it was missing. Meta Quest headsets work through WiVRn, PC headsets through Monado. The VR home menu, games, head tracking, Touch/Index controllers, vibration and recentering work. Turn it on in Settings → VR, start the runtime with the headset connected, then play. Render resolution and a desktop mirror are adjustable; the headset keeps the refresh rate chosen in the runtime. Needs the OpenXR loader (
openxron Arch,libopenxr-loader1on Debian/Ubuntu). Tested on a Quest 2 with WiVRn 26.9 at a steady 72 Hz. - Native Wayland typing: chat and search no longer insert a key twice, and Ctrl shortcuts (select all, copy, cut, paste, word navigation and deletion) work again.
Validation includes the vendored OpenXR ABI against the Khronos headers, the shim's client lookups against Roblox 0.743.0.7431134, a native OpenXR session test with controllers and vibration, the launcher's runtime discovery, and in-headset play with recordings.
Known issue: the brief freeze after leaving a game remains unresolved.

Cider 0.25
Cider 0.25 adds a compatibility warning for Roblox networking updates and repairs initial fullscreen on native Wayland.
- Roblox 0.743.0.7431134: add checksum-verified RakNet compatibility for the latest hotfix. Game joining is confirmed on the reporting machine.
- Connection warning: if Roblox actually selects a transport other than RakNet, Cider warns that the update broke game compatibility, games might fail or show Error 256, and users should update Cider or wait for a compatibility patch. The warning appears once per launch even when the launcher is hidden or Discord presence is disabled, with log and update-check buttons. An unsupported-client header alone does not trigger it.
- Native Wayland fullscreen: apply fullscreen requests made before the native window exists. This repairs the case where Roblox reports fullscreen but the window remains decorated and resizable. The old code reproduces the mismatch in KWin; the fix passes initial fullscreen and repeated toggles at 100% and 150% scaling.
Validation includes the official Roblox executable, all 32 transport/startup-throttle patch combinations, native x86_64 branch checks, 20 native fixtures, 207 Python tests, and the actual GTK warning on a disposable display. Complete executable checksum validation and atomic patching remain in place; unsupported builds are left unchanged.
Known issue: the brief freeze after leaving a game remains unresolved and is deferred to a later update.

Cider 0.24p1
Cider 0.24p1 fixes Error 256 when joining games after Roblox updated to 0.743.
- Add verified transport compatibility for Roblox 0.743.0.7431129. The updated client moved the networking code and selected RbxTransport despite the saved flags. Cider now applies the inspected RakNet fixes for this build, including both shared-config and legacy dummy-connection paths.
- Keep the cursor visible while holding right-click to move the camera on Wayland and X11/Xwayland. Releasing right-click or losing focus clears the cursor override; existing Shift Lock and first-person cursor behavior is preserved.
The reporter confirms game joining works on Roblox 0.743 after the fix. Validation includes the official executable, all 32 transport/startup-throttle patch combinations, native x86_64 branch checks, 20 native fixtures and 199 Python tests. Complete executable checksum validation and atomic patching remain in place; unsupported builds are left unchanged.

Cider 0.24
Cider 0.24 fixes native Wayland startup and game-join freezes, mouse positioning, and window resizing.
- Skip unsupported Darling HID discovery and Apple platform service queries that blocked startup and game joining. SDL supplies keyboard and mouse input.
- Align clicks with the visible cursor and preserve consistent window coordinates after resizing.
- Resize the parent Wayland buffer and commit window geometry so the outer border follows the game image.
- Rename the launcher backend option to Wayland, removing its experimental label. Select it under Settings → Environment → Game → Window backend; changes apply on the next launch.
Roblox joining, aligned clicks and border resizing are confirmed on the local niri/NVIDIA setup. Native OpenGL and Vulkan/Zink regression fixtures verify core/compatibility rendering, pointer conversions and actual parent-buffer commits through fullscreen and restore. Launcher regressions and all three distro package builds must pass before publication. Separate Zink crash and duplicate-typing reports remain under investigation.

Cider 0.23patch2
Cider 0.23patch2 repairs startup on older Darling installations and improves runtime update recovery.
- Repair the recursive sincos math wrappers in the old 4312 runtime, including float/double and pi variants.
- Preserve a live Roblox process when the Darling shell frontend disconnects with Error Code 1.
- Add Use previous CiderDarling and restart, keeping the current prefix and sign-in.
- Resume interrupted runtime downloads and verify cached downloads before reuse.
- Add Collect hardware report and
ciderhq --hardware-report --graphics, plus numeric text-input tracing for duplicate typing. - Keep the crash handler available when freeze diagnostics are enabled.
The old-library math regression passes with the production shim. Launcher regressions and all three distro builds must succeed before this release publishes. This release does not claim the remaining Claire Zink crash, duplicate-typing report or KDE native Wayland sizing report is resolved; affected-machine retesting is still needed.

Cider 0.23
Cider now discovers complete CiderDarling CI releases automatically. Available
runtime updates appear in Settings → CiderDarling and install in a separate
terminal with download progress and sudo prompts. Regular Darling remains a
runtime choice, and each runtime keeps its own prefix and Roblox sign-in.
This release also fixes game joins freezing in Darling's exp10 math wrappers,
adds freeze diagnostics and CiderDarling controls, and includes the recent
launcher, logging and session fixes.

Cider 0.22 — Rebrand and bug fixes
MacOBlox is now Cider. The launcher command and native package name are ciderhq, and the website is https://ciderhq.org.
Changes
- Migrate existing settings, caches, source installs and saved Roblox sessions without replacing existing Cider data.
- Correct X11 mouse-lock coordinates on multi-monitor desktops and reject off-window cursor targets.
- Restore public Darling source builds that skip optional Swift LFS downloads and do not request GitHub credentials.
- Add checksum-verified shader compatibility for Roblox 0.742.0.7421053 alongside 0.741.
- Add bounded recovery and diagnostics for initially unavailable native Wayland EGL drawables.
- Fix the launcher's legacy GTK dark-theme warning.
- Update the launcher, installer, colored branding, desktop entries and Arch/Debian/Fedora/openSUSE package recipes.
- Serve the source installer at
https://ciderhq.org/install.sh.
Install or update
curl -fsSL https://ciderhq.org/install.sh | bashRun ciderhq after installation. Internal shim filenames and MACOBLOX_* environment variables keep their compatibility names. The GitHub repository is now CiderHQ-org/Cider.
Validation and remaining reports
The native shim and Wayland helper build, static syntax and metadata checks pass, and the native package payload stages successfully. The reported mouse behavior and fully blank Wayland window still need confirmation on the affected machines. Native Wayland remains experimental; target-distro binary package builds remain unverified.
This is a source release. No Flatpak bundle is included. The renamed AUR recipes are available for maintainers; no AUR submission is included.
Source installer follow-ups
The source installer downloads the current main branch. Follow-up commits add guarded Clang/LLVM 23 Darling build compatibility, make the MangoHud switch override inherited activation, and remove the website and launcher welcome logos temporarily while retaining the old MacOBlox icon for installed shortcuts. These changes are on main; the v0.22 tag still points to the same source commit. The repository move changes the generated archive folder and checksum; current package recipes use the new values. A full Darling rebuild and Metal rendering have not been verified here.
Cider 0.23patch1
Cider 0.23patch1 is a small follow-up to 0.23.
- Discord Rich Presence now uses CiderHQ's own Discord application with
the Cider logo, shows the Cider version on hover, and adds Get Cider and
Game page buttons. It also clears itself again shortly after a game
ends, to keep the status from sticking in Legcord and Vesktop. - Install in terminal (CiderDarling) now finds kitty, Alacritty, foot,
WezTerm, Ghostty, Konsole and other terminals itself, fixing "Unable to find
terminal required for application" on systems withoutxdg-terminal-exec. - Cider is now licensed under the GNU GPL v3. The original Mac O' Blox
MIT notice is kept inLICENSES/MIT-MacOBlox.txt.
Install the package for your distro:
- Arch Linux, CachyOS and compatible derivatives: the
.pkg.tar.zstpackage
withsudo pacman -U ./ciderhq-*.pkg.tar.zst. - Ubuntu 24.04+, Debian 13+ and compatible derivatives: the
.debpackage
withsudo apt install ./ciderhq_*.deb. - Current Fedora and compatible derivatives: the binary
.rpmpackage
withsudo dnf install ./ciderhq-*.x86_64.rpm.
Arch and RPM packages are versioned 0.23.patch1 so package managers treat
them as an upgrade from 0.23. Source installs update from the launcher as usual.
