EvidenceForge v2.2.0a1
Pre-releaseFirst alpha of the planned 2.2.0 release. Introduces EvidenceForge Studio,
a standalone macOS application, and portable scenario and pack releases.
Existing CLI and native chat-skill workflows remain available. Log generation
remains deterministic and makes no LLM calls.
EvidenceForge Studio
- Introduce a desktop workspace for authoring scenarios and packs, validating
inputs, running generation, inspecting bundles, and reviewing evaluations.
Studio uses a Tauri/React interface with a durable local service
(a271102f,75d09d0d). - Add project-aware libraries, folders, filters, saved views, contextual
search, cloning, and remembered disclosure states. Keep authoring conversations
attached to their scenarios (3a76eac7,eaf3666b,f900abab,36b67ffc,
a2586655,656bb749). - Add environment inspection, exact pack-version selection, guided asset
editing, and optional project/scenario configuration contexts
(d81719fc,d61fb65c,388ac686,5ce4338f). - Import scenarios and portable packs with dependency review, and discover
existing generation bundles produced outside Studio
(0d7bacc7,8c4e4e7d,46d9ab70). - Improve authoring controls, model selection, validation feedback, native file
dialogs, source navigation, and visibility of chat failures
(e2d0b0a6,53c89678,87dd6258,53d0681a,f52d3f8f).
Generation and evaluation
- Freeze generation inputs when jobs are queued and maintain durable job
histories, keeping run outcomes separate from subsequent input changes
(85c25f43,75d09d0d,c33f6f93). - Bring runs, bundles, and evaluation results together in scenario workspaces.
Link scores to saved evaluation details and show recent outcomes without
requiring every run to be expanded (1e7ececd,973b5996,b21ab793,
111947dd,c27c5b24). - Predict generation resource requirements and reuse cached forecasts. Show
recorded generation sizes and the specific log types present in bundles
(d5fbae3c,46cccbd1).
Portable scenario and pack releases
- Introduce Schema 3 lifecycle metadata, editable drafts, immutable local
releases, exact ancestry, release notes, and linked upgrades. Earlier
scenario schemas 1/2 and pack schema 2 remain readable (46cccbd1). - Freeze source files, supporting assets, pack dependencies, and effective
configuration when publishing authored releases. Verify imported contents
and reject conflicting or modified releases (46cccbd1). - Export and import portable
.efscenarioand lifecycle.efpackarchives.
These archives carry authored content and dependencies; generated logs and
checkpoints remain separate (46cccbd1). - Expose lifecycle operations through the CLI, native chat skills, and Studio.
Add optional display titles and a Properties interface for metadata, release
history, lineage, and validation provenance (46cccbd1). - Add reviewed scenario and pack deletion with dependency warnings and
protections for active work. Preserve portable paths in deletion receipts
(4555ee68,46cccbd1,cf0afd1b).
Standalone macOS application
- Package Studio with a private Python runtime, the EvidenceForge engine,
supporting resources, and native authoring skills. Using the packaged app
does not require a separate Python installation (105f1478). - Add backed-up Studio state upgrades and recovery, account isolation, and
configurable retention and cleanup of installed runtimes
(86d5f6f0,77b2d51b). - Preserve bundled pack identity across runtime upgrades and share the product
version between Studio and its engine (7a8a0fb8,17364e8f).
Release automation and fixes
- Build and attach the macOS DMG and SHA256 checksum automatically through
GitHub Actions. Require release checks and installer verification before
publishing the complete GitHub Release. - Support numbered alpha, beta, and release-candidate versions. Prereleases
can publish from annotated tags on dev while main retains the previous
stable release (1b991359). - Fix same-host deferred SSH process endpoint resolution and restore the
portable pack archive inspection contract (5fc5d751,ab09dbcf). - Improve platform-specific permission and Windows path tests, desktop
presentation, and authoring-skill guidance
(c0e5c5c3,7bc56cea,9072839b,90ccbd80,46849810).
Alpha availability and limitations
- The standalone installer targets Apple Silicon macOS. Intel macOS, Linux,
and Windows installers are not included in this alpha. - The macOS application is unsigned and has not been notarized.
- Codex must be installed separately to use Codex-assisted authoring.
- Studio GUI platform support is separate from existing engine/CLI support.
- Clean-machine installation and testing under separate OS accounts remain
outstanding acceptance checks.
macOS installer
Apple Silicon only. Includes Python and the EvidenceForge runtime. Codex is installed separately for authoring. This build has no Developer ID signature or notarization. See docs/studio.md in the tagged source for installation and tested-platform limitations. Verify the download using the companion SHA256 file.
