Disable virtual display for specific client(s)? #650
|
I have headless mode enabled so my TV will use the virtual display. This is fine. However, I also want to play local co-op games with my friends which obviously means virtual displays should not be used, since I need to see the game on my computer monitor as well. I see that I can override the resolution and fps of a client's VD, but I see no way to disable it entirely. Does such a feature exist? Edit: alternatively, is there a way to manually enable virtual displays per client, and not globally? |

Headless mode isn't really necessary unless the host device is actually headless. Turning this off will accomplish what you want. If you're using Artemis as the client, it can request the virtual display, or not. Otherwise, you can set whether to enable the virtual display in the per-app settings in Apollo. If some/all of your clients aren't Artemis, you could create two entries for the app in Apollo -- one for use with the virtual display, one for use without it. The existing "Desktop" and "Virtual Desktop" options work this way (even though you won't see "virtual desktop" listed under the app setup). By default, "Desktop" does NOT use the virtual display unless you edit the entry to check the box for it, or unless you use Artemis and request the virtual display there. But "Virtual Desktop" always does. Headless mode will always create the virtual display regardless of the other settings, but isn't necessary on a device that has a physical monitor. |
