Summary

Validate the Agent Contract Protocol thesis before more public copy or runtime hardening.

Scope

• Confirm current Claude Code MCP Tool Search default behavior.
• Re-check competitors for signed agent execution contracts, audit, identity binding, revocation, and agent governance.
• Re-check standards and adjacent projects: MCP latest spec, A2A, Agent Client Protocol, Agent Communication Protocol, Cloudflare remote MCP, OPA-style policy, and agent firewalls.
• Update docs/discovery/2026-06-research-log.md with dated citations.

Acceptance Criteria

• Research log has dated citations and source links.
• Closest prior art section says whether anyone owns the exact primitive.
• Stop and reframe if another project already defines the same signed execution contract.

Closing. The repo was repositioned to Agent Native Format in #22 (merged). The headline is now the token-minimal view format; the execution-contract runtime stays as a secondary component. This phase issue was framed around the old Agent Contract Protocol positioning. If the execution-runtime work is still wanted, reopen and re-scope it under the ANF framing. See naming-decision.md.
