  • Async client: FlinkSqlGatewayClient now uses httpx.AsyncClient.
    • All client methods are async def and must be awaited.
    • Added aclose() for proper cleanup.
  • Async server: Converted MCP tools/resources and helper routines to async.
    • Uses asyncio.sleep in polling/loops to avoid blocking.
    • External behavior and tool schemas remain unchanged.
  • Injectable HTTP client: build_server(base_url=None, http_client=None) accepts an injected httpx.AsyncClient (useful for tests/mocking).
  • Tests & fixtures:
    • Unit tests use httpx.MockTransport with an injected AsyncClient.
    • Integration tests are gated by --run-integration or RUN_INTEGRATION_TESTS=1.
    • Inlined server creation in fixtures; added integration_client/integration_session_handle for live runs.
