Installation

Close PaneLive Companion and OBS before installing or updating. Install the PaneLive mobile app from Google Play or the App Store, then pair it with PaneLive Companion to use your mobile device as a full-featured remote controller for your preferred supported production software.

Windows

Download and run the Windows x64 installer. Setup installs Companion for your Windows account and handles the Windows App Runtime and selected OBS/firewall integration.

The Windows packages in this build are unsigned. For manual setup, download the Windows x64 ZIP and follow the [Windows installation guide][windows-guide].

macOS

Download the installer that matches your Mac and OBS architecture:

Open the downloaded .pkg and follow the installer. The package installs Companion in /Applications and updates the shared OBS helper. See the [macOS installation guide][macos-guide].

For manual setup, ZIP archives are also available for Apple silicon and Intel. Use the PKG for the guided installation.

Debian / Ubuntu

Download the amd64 DEB package. The declared desktop targets are Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, and 26.04, and Debian 12 and 13.

Open a terminal in the folder containing the downloaded package, then run:

sudo apt install ./panelive-companion-0.1.0-beta.1-linux-x64.deb
panelive-companion --open-management

The DEB includes the matching OBS helper. Helper activation requires compatible native OBS 30+, Qt 6, and the libobs.so.30 ABI. Flatpak and Snap OBS cannot load this helper. Companion can still be used for the standalone teleprompter without compatible OBS.

See this release's Linux installation instructions and Linux validation report for package-specific requirements and validation details. Additional information is available in the [Linux installation guide][linux-guide] and [Linux compatibility details][linux-support].

Linux installer bundle

Download the Linux x64 installer bundle (.tar.gz) and the accompanying linux-INSTALL.md. Extract the archive and follow that guide to install it. Check the guide's supported distributions and dependencies before choosing this option.

Omarchy / Arch Linux

Download the Companion package. For OBS monitoring, also download the OBS helper package.

Open a terminal in the folder containing both packages, then run:

sudo pacman -U ./panelive-companion-0.1.0-beta.1-omarchy-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst \
  ./panelive-companion-obs-plugin-0.1.0-beta.1-omarchy-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
panelive-companion --open-management

For standalone teleprompter use, install only Companion:

sudo pacman -U ./panelive-companion-0.1.0-beta.1-omarchy-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
panelive-companion --open-management

The OBS helper requires native OBS 30+ and Qt 6. Run Companion in your graphical user session with a working Secret Service keyring. The optional Quickshell widget is installed under /usr/share/panelive-companion/omarchy-widget/.

These are the Omarchy x86_64 packages. See this release's Omarchy installation instructions and Omarchy validation report for requirements, setup, and validation details, including when using the packages on another Arch-based desktop. Additional [Arch / Omarchy package details][arch-guide] are available in the repository.

Set up your connection

Start Companion as your normal desktop user. Configure your backend on the Adapters page, then pair a compatible mobile client on the same local network. Follow the [backend setup and pairing guide][pairing-guide].

What's changed

  • Stronger authentication, role checks, and input validation, including limits for HTTP, WebSocket, and WebRTC traffic.
  • Improvements to media timing, capture lifecycle, and communication with the OBS helper.
  • Updated Windows, macOS, and Linux management interfaces and client connection notifications.
  • Refreshed Linux appearance, Omarchy integration, and an optional desktop widget.
  • Updated macOS installer integration for the application and shared OBS helper.
  • Combined Debian / Ubuntu installer with automatic helper activation for compatible native OBS installations.

Verify your download

Download the checksum file for your chosen package or platform. Follow the [SHA-256 verification instructions][verification-guide].
