Installed from Google Play? Google signs the Play version with its own key, so this APK will not install over it ("App not installed"). Update from Google Play, or save your configs (Servers › ⋮ › Export all), uninstall the Play version, then install this APK.

What's new

  • One release for every platform. Android and desktop now share one version number and one v3.1.3 tag. The separate desktop-v* releases are gone, so packagers can follow the usual tags.
  • VPN mode on Windows and macOS. Every app goes through ZedSecure, including apps that ignore the system proxy, and DNS goes through the tunnel too. It asks for administrator rights each time you connect. Tor and Psiphon keep using the system proxy.
  • One APK for every phone. The new universal APK installs on any ARM phone, 32-bit or 64-bit.
  • Updates from where you installed. The GitHub build checks GitHub for new versions and downloads the right APK for your phone. The Google Play build keeps updating from Play.
  • Clearer IKEv2 errors. A failed IKEv2 connection now says why: login refused, no shared encryption settings, no address from the server, or the error number.
  • On Android: proxy chains can start with a serverless config, and Fake SNI for Tor now works in the GitHub build too.

Fixes

  • System proxy on macOS is now set on every active network service, not only the first one in the list, which was often not the one in use.
  • IKEv2: a server name used as an identity is no longer sent as an IP address. A saved password that can no longer be read now asks you to enter it again instead of logging in with an empty password.
  • Garbled, flickering window on Linux with NVIDIA (for example Debian 13 KDE with driver 550): with NVIDIA drivers older than 555 under Wayland, the window now draws in software. Settings › Rendering lets you choose Automatic, GPU or Software.
  • Missing text on some Windows PCs: Windows now draws in software by default.
  • The macOS app did not start on Intel Macs and older macOS versions. The core now runs on macOS 12 and later.
