Installed from Google Play? Google signs the Play version with its own key, so this APK will not install over it ("App not installed"). Update from Google Play, or save your configs (Servers › ⋮ › Export all), uninstall the Play version, then install this APK.

What's new

  • One administrator prompt per run. VPN mode and OpenConnect on desktop ask for administrator rights once each time ZedSecure runs, not on every connect. On Linux you can also tick "Don't ask again on this computer", or turn on Settings › VPN › Remember administrator access.
  • Fastest-server groups in routing. A routing rule can now send its traffic to "Auto · ", the fastest server of that subscription, while everything else stays on your main server.
  • VPN mode for chains on desktop. Chains that start with Xray, SSH or a DNS tunnel now go through the tunnel instead of the system proxy.
  • The kill switch reconnects by itself. When the connection drops, traffic stays blocked and ZedSecure connects again as soon as the network is back.
  • Free methods are marked. Psiphon and Tor carry a Free tag in the add menu.
  • A new tray icon that shows the connection state at a glance, and a tray menu in your language.
  • ZedSecure is on the AUR. On Arch Linux, install the community package with yay -S zedsecure-bin.

Fixes

  • Linux asked for the password twice: the desktop's own prompt, then ZedSecure's. It now asks once and remembers which way works on your system.
  • Antivirus programs flagged PowerShell when VPN mode connected on Windows. ZedSecure no longer runs PowerShell for VPN mode or OpenConnect. Windows connection notifications are off for now, because they needed it too.
  • DNS leaked on Windows in VPN mode, because Windows also asked the network card's DNS servers. DNS outside the tunnel is now blocked, while the core can still resolve the domains you route direct.
  • Direct traffic looped back into the tunnel on Linux in VPN mode, and DNS on Linux now goes through the tunnel when systemd-resolved is running.
