Security

  • The native Rust engine now builds against pyo3 0.29 (up from 0.22), closing three advisories in the Python↔Rust binding layer: RUSTSEC-2025-0020, RUSTSEC-2026-0177, and RUSTSEC-2026-0204. The fix is compiled into the wheels, so reinstalling picks it up. numpy, pyo3-stub-gen, and crossbeam-epoch move in lockstep.

Build

  • The Rust toolchain floor rises to 1.94 (pyo3-stub-gen's transitive time dependency needs rustc ≥ 1.88); CI moves in step, clearing the intermittent toolchain-setup failure seen on 3.0.5.
  • pyo3-stub-gen is feature-gated off by default, dropping rustpython-parser and six unmaintained unic-* crates from the shipped cdylib and from cargo-deny.
