2.2.0
✨ The 2.2.0 tour
A small release with one feature that changes how a long list of projects feels: labels. Give your projects labels such as Infra, Parsers or Client X, and the Explorer lists the projects of a space under them. Here is the tour of what is new since 2.1.0.
🏷️ Labels for your projects
A label is a badge with a name, an icon and a color, and it can sit under another label: Parsers › Config formats. Each label is a title in the Explorer, above its projects, and the projects never move to the right: a long list becomes a few short ones without the indentation of folders. A project can have several labels and is listed under each. A star keeps a label on top, and a favorite sub-label moves up alone, under its path. The chevron of a label folds it, and One list in the … menu of PROJECTS goes back to a single list where each project shows its labels as small badges.
You organize them where you see them: the ⋯ of a label edits it, makes a label under it or deletes it; drag a title above, below or onto another label to move it; drag a project onto a label to give it that label, and Labels… in the menu of a project checks its labels. Settings › Labels shows the whole tree. A label belongs to a space, or to every space. Agents use them too: alta label creates, organizes and assigns labels, and alta project list --label infra lists the projects to work on when you ask for "every project labeled Infra". More →
