Minecraft 26.3 support

MinimapSync now has a native Fabric build for Minecraft 26.3, alongside the legacy 1.21 / 1.21.1 build.

  • Updated networking, permissions, GUI/input and texture handling for 26.3.
  • Supports Xaero's Minimap 26.5.3 and VoxelMap 26.3-1.16.13 (Fabric).
  • Fixed shared icon actions that were silently ignored when opened from the selector.
  • Fixed duplicated Xaero world paths and avoided its recursive path resolver, so shared waypoints appear in the active world.
  • Fixed VoxelMap's editor integration, private checkbox placement and icon selector rendering.
  • Custom Xaero icon textures are released safely when disconnecting.
  • Corrected command text components in the legacy and native builds.

Updating

Stop the server and replace the matching jars on the server and clients. Keep the same world, minimapsync.json and minimapsync_icons/. The saved data format and network protocol remain version 5.

A real 1.21.1 to 26.3 server upgrade and restart retained the waypoint data and teleport settings unchanged. Client/server synchronization and custom icons were checked with Xaero and VoxelMap on 26.3.

Fabric API is required. Clients also need a supported minimap. JourneyMap integration is not included; Xaero's World Map integration on 26.3 has not been tested.

This fork preserves Earthcomputer's MIT license and credits.

@TVTvirus TVTvirus released this 06 Aug 00:58

W4VE fork of Earthcomputer/minimap-sync 1.2.3, for Minecraft 1.21 and 1.21.1.

What this fork fixes: compatibility with current Xaero's Minimap (25.2.10). Upstream 1.2.2 crashes the client on load with recent Xaero releases, and clients that stay on an older version get stuck looping on "Receive Buffer is empty".

Everything else is upstream, MIT, credit to Earthcomputer.

Install: the jar goes on both the server and the client. The server keeps the shared waypoints; the client needs Xaero's Minimap for them to show up anywhere. Without the mod on the client side, nothing syncs into Xaero.

Requires Fabric API.
