Fourth public release candidate of the portable Windows-to-Android USB audio
product. The ZIP remains self-contained and normally runs without installation
or administrator access.

Reliability fixes

• Embeds and cryptographically verifies the permanently signed Android
  1.0.0-rc.4 companion (version code 7).
• Fixes a reproduced Android startup race in which the playback thread could
  reach speaker-route validation before its route-grace state was initialized.
• Preserves nested Android playback causes across the USB protocol.
• When phone-local music or video takes Android media audio focus, Windows now
  stops the session once, removes its exact ADB forward, and shows a beginner
  recovery instruction instead of repeatedly disconnecting/reconnecting.

Validation improvements

• Adds a Windows supervisor regression proving audio-focus loss creates exactly
  one actionable failure and no replacement companion launch or ADB forward.
• Adds Android tests for bounded cause-chain propagation while retaining stable
  protocol and transport error wording.
• Updates the physical-device protocol tool for the current 92-byte playback
  diagnostics and validates write/head progress, play state, and performance
  mode.

Current evidence

• Android clean unit/lint/debug-build matrix: passed.
• Flutter formatting, localization generation, analysis, and all 39 tests:
  passed.
• The exact signed RC4 APK on a Samsung Galaxy A52s / Android 14 passed a
  60-second stream with 2,880,000 frames received/written, zero dropped frames,
  zero underruns, confirmed speaker route/audio focus, active wake lock, and
  clean service/ADB-forward teardown.
• A controlled Samsung Music focus takeover returned the exact terminal cause
  AudioTrack playback failed: Android audio focus was lost.

RC4 remains a prerelease until the documented longer screen-off, repeated USB
reconnect, measured latency, restricted-PC, and two-hour endurance gates are
completed.

installer or administrator access in the normal case.

Reliability fixes

• Embeds and cryptographically verifies the permanently signed Android
  1.0.0-rc.3 companion (version code 6).
• Fixes a reproduced Android watchdog bug where intentionally dropped
  live-edge audio could make a later silent period look stalled.
• Gives transient stale Bluetooth/wired routes a bounded recovery window while
  reasserting the built-in phone speaker.
• Applies the ordinary-performance compatibility fallback to the entire
  AudioTrack setup, not only construction.
• Prevents a new Android receiver session from overlapping an old playback
  worker that has not conclusively stopped.
• Persists an exact, owner-validated ADB forward journal. On the next start,
  AudioShare removes only a matching stale device + port + socket mapping;
  it never uses broad adb forward --remove-all cleanup.
• Classifies known focus, route, protocol, package, and compatibility failures
  as terminal until user/environment action instead of repeating frustrating
  automatic retries.
• Adds bounded exponential backoff and diagnostics for the optional ADB device
  tracker while retaining periodic device polling.

Better “connected but silent” diagnostics

• Shows a visible warning when Android media volume is muted or very low.
• Reports Windows captured frames, current peak/RMS signal, and time since the
  last non-silent sample.
• Reports Android written frames, cumulative playback-head progress, progress
  ages, play state, and actual performance mode using a backward-compatible
  extension of the version-1 STATS message.
• Reports the shared ADB server executable/version/mDNS status when supported,
  without killing or silently reconfiguring another tool's ADB server.

Beginner and AI-assistant guidance

• Adds the exact creator credit: created by Shayan SalehiRad in the Windows
  app header.
• Adds llms.txt and a dedicated AI setup brief that tell assistants to guide
  ordinary users through the portable Windows ZIP—not cloning, Android Studio,
  Flutter, or Gradle.
• Includes the beginner and AI setup documents inside the portable ZIP.
• Clarifies Developer Options, USB debugging authorization, data-cable,
  extraction, companion installation, auto-connect, media-volume, and safe
  troubleshooting steps.

Verification boundary

The complete path was previously heard working very well on a Samsung Galaxy
A52s / Android 14 with global capture and zero visible drops in the diagnostic
snapshot. RC3 passes Android unit/lint/build, Flutter analysis/tests, MSVC native
protocol and integration checks, portable package verification, and hosted CI.
The exact RC3 build still remains a prerelease until the documented ten-minute
screen-off, repeated reconnect, measured latency, restricted-PC, and two-hour
physical-device gates are completed.

• Keeps usable phones visible when an optional ADB metadata request or a later
  device refresh fails temporarily.
• Requires an explicit successful Android activity-launch status and gives
  actionable errors for wrong-signature or newer companion installations.
• Extends the native capture-start budget so the global-capture compatibility
  fallback is not interrupted prematurely.
• Adds capture-discontinuity diagnostics and fails early if the packaged native
  DLL is missing a required export.
• Renews Android's speaker-route grace window after every transient route-data
  loss and reports a bounded playback-stalled error if pending PC audio stops
  advancing through the phone's AudioTrack.
• Stops an identical automatic failure after three attempts in one minute so a
  broken environment is shown clearly instead of retrying forever.
• Makes Disconnect stop the current session without forgetting the preferred
  phone.
• Migrates preferences into the CodeinScrubs application-data namespace, keeps

  unused Linux ADB binary from the Windows-only package source.

Release-candidate limitations

The portable executable remains unsigned because no trusted Windows
Authenticode certificate is available, so Microsoft SmartScreen may display an
unknown-publisher warning. A ten-minute screen-off run, repeated cable recovery,
measured median/p95 latency, restricted-PC validation, and a two-hour endurance
run remain manual gates before stable promotion.

Download the Windows ZIP, verify its adjacent SHA-256 file, extract the entire
archive into a user-writable directory, enable USB debugging, and run
audioshare.exe without administrator access.

New users should follow the

The initial Galaxy A52s / Android 14 run completed companion installation and
audible global-system playback with a 10 ms host queue high-water mark, 10 ms
heartbeat round-trip time, and zero visible host/Android drops.

Release-candidate limitations

Ten-minute screen-off endurance, repeated USB recovery, measured median/p95
latency, restricted-PC behavior, and the two-hour run remain manual stable-release
gates. The Windows executable is not Authenticode signed, so Microsoft SmartScreen
may show an unknown-publisher or reputation warning.

Download the Windows ZIP, verify its adjacent SHA-256 file, extract the complete
archive to a user-writable directory, enable USB debugging on the phone, and run
audioshare.exe as a normal user. If prompted, choose Install companion once.
