The first Finesse app for Android. On the phone it's Finesse, exactly as in the browser. In the car, Android Auto shows your Finesse music next to Maps.

  • Your music in the car: recently added, albums, artists, favourites, genres, playlists and search, with the car's own controls and the steering-wheel buttons.
  • Album art on the car screen.
  • Picks up where you left off: with Android Auto's Start music automatically on, connecting to the car carries on with what you last played there.

Install

  1. Download finesse-android-v0.1.0-libre-release.apk below and open it on your phone (allow installing when Android asks).
  2. Open Finesse, type your Finesse address and sign in. In the car your phone is usually on mobile data, so use an address that works away from home (Tailscale or Cloudflare).
  3. For Android Auto: in its settings, tap Version ten times, then ⋮ → Developer settings → Unknown sources. If Finesse isn't in the car's app list, tick it under Customize launcher.

Had a test build? This installs as a separate app: sign in here, then uninstall the old one.

Built from Jellyfin for Android (GPL-2.0). Video on the car screen (Finesse Video) isn't in this release: Android Auto only lists that kind of app when it's installed from Google Play.
