✨ What's New

πŸ– Syntax Highlighting & Enhanced Tool Display

Code blocks in the chat are now syntax highlighted using GitHub-style light/dark themes (powered by rehype-highlight), making it far easier to read code snippets, scripts, and structured output at a glance. A new reusable CodeBlock component adds a language label and a one-click copy button to every code block.

Tool call results have been significantly improved too β€” the ACP tool display now covers a much wider range of tool types including git, filesystem, scheduling, plan, and process tools. When available, the tool's own description is surfaced for write/edit/delete operations so you always know exactly what an agent is doing. The scheduler's OutputViewer header has also been redesigned with a repositioned copy button and richer metadata display.

πŸ—’ Obsidian MCP Integration

A new Obsidian server entry is available in the MCP gallery (with official logo), letting you connect your Obsidian vault directly as a knowledge source. MCP server definitions now support an optional info URL field β€” when present, an info icon appears next to the tool name so you can jump straight to its documentation or project page.

βš™οΈ Dual-Scope MCP Config Management

MCP server configuration now supports two independent scopes β€” global (~/.compass/.mcp.json) and project-level β€” giving you granular control over which tools are active per workspace versus across the entire app. Key features include:

  • Scope selector in the MCP Config Dialog to choose where a server gets installed (global or project)
  • Scope badges and conflict warnings on tool cards in the gallery
  • Scope filter tabs (All / Global / Project) in the gallery header for quick filtering
  • Conflict detection β€” project-level entries override global ones on name conflict (shallow merge), with visual warnings surfaced in the UI
  • A dedicated Zustand store (mcp-config.store) handles all scope state and merging logic

πŸ’€ Idle Mode & Hardware Acceleration Toggle

Building on the Performance Settings introduced in v1.0.2, two new power controls are now available:

  • Idle Mode β€” a new IdleManager service automatically suspends non-critical services (WebSocket, Scheduler, WhatsApp) after 30 seconds of window inactivity. The tray icon shows an (Idle) suffix and a "Resume from Idle" menu item so you always know the app's state.
  • Hardware Acceleration Toggle β€” enable or disable GPU hardware acceleration from Settings. Changes take effect on next launch, with a restart prompt shown immediately when you flip the toggle. The setting is persisted to performance.json and read before app.whenReady() so it applies at the earliest possible startup point.

πŸ›  Improvements

  • Shared markdown rendering β€” a new markdownComponents module is now used consistently across ChatMessage, AssistantResponseCard, and CommandOutput, eliminating duplicated rendering logic and ensuring a uniform look everywhere.
  • Multi-file upload in Knowledge β€” KnowledgeList now supports selecting and uploading multiple files in one go.
  • MCP gallery discoverability β€” server entries surface documentation links (info URL) inline, right next to the tool name.
  • MCP scope filter β€” the gallery's scope filter correctly excludes tools not installed in the selected scope, so the view always reflects reality.
  • MCP auth status detection β€” the auth status regex now correctly recognises the βœ“ symbol and no auth required states.
  • Windows MCP shim fix β€” .cmd shims are now resolved to their underlying executables before spawning, avoiding cmd.exe argument parsing issues on Windows.
  • FloatingChatMenu reordered β€” Marketplace is now listed first, with utility actions grouped below a separator for a cleaner hierarchy.
