Big update since v1.0.0.

Friend-to-friend gifting — send a skin to a friend with a copy-paste CS2GIFT-… code. No account, no server, works offline. Codes are locked to one recipient. (Trust-based between friends, deliberately not a secure/anti-fraud system.)

Real market-price accuracy — exact listed prices are used verbatim (~94% of items); the gaps (unlisted StatTrak/wear combos) are now estimated from real market wear-decay and StatTrak-premium curves instead of crude flat guesses. Your inventory re-prices against the latest catalog on load. (Validated on 21,838 holdout predictions: mean error 132% → 62%.)

UI polish — top bar and inventory action bar no longer overflow at narrow dock widths; a Trade Up ▸ Auto-fill button completes a contract with your cheapest eligible skins; the stats panel now shows Collection value (cash + inventory).

Docs — README rewritten for a public, all-audiences release: honest about virtual currency (not gambling, no Steam link), how prices are set, and why there's no global marketplace.

145 tests pass. Bundled Valve sounds/fonts intact.

Install: download cs2_cases.ankiaddon, double-click it (or Anki ▸ Tools ▸ Add-ons ▸ Install from file…), and restart Anki. Requires Anki 23.10+ (Qt6).

Install

1. Download cs2_cases.ankiaddon below.
2. Double-click it (or Tools ▸ Add-ons ▸ Install from file…), then restart Anki.
3. Click the ★ in the toolbar (or Tools ▸ CS2 Cases) to open the market.
4. Tools ▸ CS2 Cases: Update catalog — one-time (~1–2 min, ~106MB) download of all 206 containers, real market prices, and skin images. After that it runs fully offline.

Requires Anki 23.10+ (Qt6). Tested on macOS; Windows/Linux untested.

What it does

• 10¢ per card answered (configurable) → buy and open real CS2 cases.
• Faithful opening: decelerating reel with the real game audio, hidden gold tier, wear/float, StatTrak™, quick-open (click to skip), all over a full-window overlay.
• Inventory — search/sort/filter, multi-select bulk sell, favourites (protected from selling and trade-ups).
• Trade-ups by CS2 rules — collection-weighted output, float averaging, StatTrak share drives output odds, and 5 Covert → 1 Gold.
• Stats — career numbers, a colour-coded rarity pyramid, gold drought counter, recent unboxes.

All currency is virtual. No real money, nothing to cash out.
