Highlights

The first signed and notarized Stowe build for macOS. The DMG launches without any "Apple cannot check it for malicious software" warning — no more right-click bypass.

What's new

  • Custom categories — create your own expense categories alongside the built-in HSA defaults. Manage them in Settings.
  • Spending analytics — a new page that breaks down your medical spending by category and over time.
  • Light, dark, and sepia themes — switchable in Settings, persists across launches.
  • HSA account linking — track HSA balance, contributions, and distributions inside Stowe.
  • Custodian CSV import — import distribution history from your HSA custodian and reconcile it against the Pulls you've recorded. Quickly see which Pulls match a real distribution and which don't.

Download

  • macOS — Stowe-0.6.0.dmg. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Open the DMG, drag Stowe to Applications, and launch.
  • Windows — Stowe-0.6.0-windows-setup.exe. Installs to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Stowe\ (no admin rights needed). Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run because the installer is unsigned — click More info → Run anyway. Requires Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (preinstalled on Windows 10 1803+ and Windows 11).

Notes

  • The "no account, no analytics" wording has been clarified to "no Stowe account, no cloud, no telemetry" — the new HSA-account-linking feature stores account info locally only.
  • Stowe is still local-only by design. Your data lives at ~/Library/Application Support/Stowe/ (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Stowe\ (Windows).
