“AI enters the conversation.”
We’re excited to release ConvoKit 5.0.0, which introduces explicit support for AI participants, AI mediators, and AI private assistants. It adds dedicated data structures for representing AI interventions directly in ConvoKit corpora, provides tools designed to measure the impact of AI in conversations, and provides easy ways to generate conversational data following highly-customizable scenarios.
This major update also adds two new subpackages:
convokit.simulation for generating conversations starting from scenarios designed via the Simulation Factory
convokit.ai_evaluation for measuring impact of AI via transformers like Conversational Information Gain (Chen et al., 2026) and ClaimTracker.
Several public corpora of human-AI conversations (habermas-machine-corpus, mathdial-corpus, and llm-facilitation-corpus) have been added as well.
